So many people are moving to the RGV and it’s cheaper than all these places but there’s nothing to do here. We have the BEST AUTHENTIC Mexican food in all of America.

I like Austin and go there for weekends when there's something going on that I want to attend. I don't think I'd enjoy living there, however, as long as I have a choice to live in a diverse international city (Houston) vs. one that's less so, and other things are a wash (same weather, traffic, cost of living, etc.). I don't prefer places known as bougie and/or hipster and more white than not. Or too much of a UT cult.

I visited Dallas twice early this year for work. It has better weather than Houston, but I think it's boring compared to Houston. Has most of the same type of stuff but seems more desolate in general. Houston's bigger and better. I agree about the shitty things about Houston (hurricanes, floods), though realistically, just because the city is known for these things doesn't mean its common to be affected by them. I wasn't hurt in the slightest by any of the big hurricanes (Ike, Harvey), and don't have flood issues either. No car or home harmed ever, not even a little. Houston has racial/ethnic diversity, international/global presence, great food/restaurants, arts/theater/literature, the medical center, pro sports teams, etc. Honestly, the only thing I'd give Dallas over Houston (neither city is known for beauty) is weather. Other than that, it's a gross city: white, Christian, big-haired superficial people. 100% disgusting in ethos.

SA is not the smallest of the 4, its 2nd biggest city and 3rd biggest metro

Houston has the best food option, especially if you like Asian and Vietnamese food. Plus, if you blessed enough to have a federal job in Houston, the GS pay is higher then DC!
San Antonio is waaaay to expensive for what the city has to offer (from houses, apt to bars). Only entertainment/dining options are the Rim or Downtown. Everything is just dead in between. You either have million dollar homes in Alamo heights area or Dominion, or run down neighborhoods. The airport is small, which may be good, but most of your flights connects through Houston or Dallas. Only nice thing I like about SA is the pretty hill country, but that’s like 25 miles north.
