I wonder if all of this mess, and what followed, played a part in the Mob losing its grip on the casino industry in Las Vegas. Some of this was obviously part of a changing era of prevention and safety, but it sounds like there was a lot of resistance from money men at the top, and we know who populated those ranks.
ОтветитьHuh
Figured this would be about that worst shooting in US history that the media stopped talking about after like 3 days.
Huh.
Why does the government only upgrade their safety AFTER the incident even though suggestions were made beforehand?
Ответитьi kkina remember i was too young
ОтветитьWhy did that priest look happy???

ОтветитьMy Grandma and Grandpa were in the building the night before this happened. They were just having dinner there and weren’t staying for the night. As they were driving home they heard about this on the radio.Thank the lord they didn’t stay there.
ОтветитьGreed is inherently stupid, and undoubtedly dangerous for the rest of us.
ОтветитьWhats with clickbait thumbnail 😂. Dislike for me and a report for misleading on thumbnail. On topic yes but come on lol
ОтветитьI remember when we visited Las vegas, we happened to pass by it on Flamingo going east from the strip in 1980 it was all gated around with a chainlink fence and my mom was explaining to me and my two brothers of what had happened here... 24 years later, I never thought I'd be working there in 2005... from it happened

My grandma died in the stair case with her husband I was 1
ОтветитьIt really woke the eyes up of the Las Vegas Fire and Clark County Fire Department how the fight high rise and casino fires it’s ironic that it’s now closed as the Tropicana along with the Mirage old Las Vegas is dying 😢
ОтветитьIt's a bit hard to forget disasters of ANY magnitude.
ОтветитьIs it true that Casino’s pump in oxygen to keep people playing? Without oxygen- a fire goes out. But with more oxygen…
ОтветитьI always heard it was started by a bus boy who had set curtains on fire so he could put out the fire and everyone would call him a hero.????
ОтветитьCorrection on my question. The Hilton fire was set by a bus boy.200 dead in 1981 casino 🔥 blaze.
ОтветитьLeave it to mgm to allow their guests to continue gambling while their life is at risk
ОтветитьMy dad was a firefighter on that fire. And I watched the fire from my apartment about a quarter mile away. I saw someone jump from one of the windows. It was terrible.
ОтветитьAmateur firemen
ОтветитьI can’t believe I have never heard of this story. How sad!
ОтветитьI was in Vegas with my cousin that Thanksgiving. There would also been a plane crash with whatever plane airline we were on going out there seems like we had disasters all over the place.
ОтветитьThis is a reason I don’t stay on upper floors in hotels. I don’t wanna live on the top floor and apartment buildings if a ladder won’t reach me. I don’t wanna be there.
ОтветитьIf they would have stayed in their rooms they wold have stayed alive.
ОтветитьThey literally paid governments to make card counting illegal, people think casinos care about you? You are used goods to them once they have your money
ОтветитьEvery stupid little thing they refused to do only left me with one response. 🤦♂️wow
ОтветитьGeez, why are they bringing their stuff out? They can’t bring those stuff out when they are evacuated duh that’s dangerous.
ОтветитьCurtains made of gasoline
ОтветитьEach victims family got about $25,000 and free drinks for life at the MGM
ОтветитьHow were they able to get insurance if they had no fire control system?
ОтветитьMy friend's allergist from NE died here from smoke inhalation.
ОтветитьRoute 91 also is something Vegas wants to forget
ОтветитьToday, this is now the Horseshoe Resort, formerly, Bally's? Is that correct?
ОтветитьI remember I read this in a magazine. I still remember about the couple who was on a honeymoon. The man tried to save his wife but the woman froze and hesitated to jump. The man was waiting to catch her but it was too late, his wife died engulfed in a fireball. She died instantly.
ОтветитьWell it's called sin city for a reason.
ОтветитьPlainly demonstrates corporate greed !
ОтветитьI grew up here and was working down the street at the Desert Inn when this fire broke out.
Two of the employees who died were friends I had known since the 8th grade.
The only disaster I know that happened here was Ivan Drago killing Apollo Creed
ОтветитьNo fire alarm? Wtf?
ОтветитьLife goes on. I never stayed at the old MGM but have stayed at the new one. Aside from my wife getting drunk and throwing up all over the room, everything was fine
Ответить7AM is maybe the worst possible time for a fire in Vegs. The vast majority of people, except maybe senior citizens would be 100% passed out at this time, in their deepest sleep.
ОтветитьThe rich really don't want some of the money, they want ALL THE MONEY. Imagine even a casino making billions, they couldn't be bothered to spend 150k for safety. They WILL sacrifice us all for every penny in your pocket.
ОтветитьThat's not something they prepare you for at priest school. Geez, that's tough.
ОтветитьWhy are humans so goddamn stupid??
ОтветитьWhat a nightmare
ОтветитьAll the $$$ they make from the casino but can’t spend $192,000 to make the place safe?
ОтветитьI checked out the day before the fire.
ОтветитьI remember when this happened!
