So we can mix fat with complex carbs, just not simple carbs, correct? I can have butter on my broccoli, just not on my Ezekiel bread, if I ate that...?

eeeeewwwww fiber I hate that stuff cause colon cancer runs in my family. I'm super sensitive to it, can't even eat more than 5 grams in one sitting without seeing my intestines have a nasty reaction to it...

Thats interesting. Im giving this Keto thingie a bash. My mum always told me to eat bread when I was a kid because I ate like a horse and there was not enough "food". Hence: I have associated bread with poor people as it is a filler. That said I adore Ciabatta and focaccia. Bread seems such a genius way of eating other food. It makes it portable. You can eat a burger in a bun easily. Try walking around eating the burger WITHOUT the bun. Messy! I miss it a bit. NOT AS MUCH AS ORANGE JUICE!! I thought it was healthy and drank 2 L ++ per day of fresh OJ. Now I find out, it just SUGAR. I worked hard in the City of London. NEVER ate breakfast. I would often skip lunch due to meetings and eat when I got home in the evening. Everyone thought it was unhealthy. Apparently....NOT. So fasting for 24 hours is not SUCH a chore for me. Never one for fries and potatoes. Thats said; I loved risotto and would give a major organ for seafood paella with saffron +lemon. thats a killer - I will miss that. Spent 1/2 my life avoiding fine fresh unpasteurised FRENCH cheese which is readily available in London as well as 30 day old grass fed Aberdeen steak because we were told it was "BAD" for you. Turns out this was a hoax. I have slabs of organic Aberdeen grass fed beef in my fridge now and runny French cheese. Fantastic. USA beef is corn fed. When on holiday in the USA a guy in a steak house told me USA cattle are fed Corn as it provides bulk. Cows are born allergic to corn. They have to get cows used to a diet which they reject as they naturally eat GRASS. interesting eh? avoiding corn fed beef and "printer" cheese and swapping this for grass fed and full fat UNPASTURISED French/Swiss cheese seems a fantastic diet...which a glass of red.

This is the method bodybuilders use to get extremely lean & shredded, very great explanation. Carbs and fats mixed in the same meal is what creates diabetes, due to the inhibited absorption of glucose.

What is your opinion about the impossible meat?! Maybe use a non bread like hydrated veggie bun?! Here is what google pulled up as ingredience of impossible meat: Water, Pea Protein Isolate, Expeller-Pressed Canola Oil, Refined Coconut Oil, Contains 2% or less of the following: Cellulose from Bamboo, Methylcellulose, Potato Starch, Natural Flavor, Maltodextrin, Yeast Extract, Salt, Sunflower Oil, Vegetable Glycerin, Dried Yeast, Gum Arabic, Citrus Extract
Not healthy buy when really want a burger?!!!

Hey .. I know it’s late after posting this video. But: what to do with oatmeal and peanut butter together ? Is that fattening to. Because oatmeal is an unrefined carb source which’s different than a highly refined white bread bun right?

Sorry but there's no such thing as "fat storing" foods. Fat gain and fat loss all boils down to calorie count, as it's all about a calorie deficit you need. So you could technically eat only cheeseburgers and still lose fat if you're not surpassing your calorie deficit limit.

It's just annoying to see videos like these because they only seem to make diets more intimidating and far less basic than they need to be.

I think it's ok because when I do this the insulin is stable because I don't feel hungry after this meal for 6 hours.

Thanks doc! Simply put carbs and fats together are drugs, engineered in labs to get us hooked. The process you mentioned above also explains how diet affects neurotransmitters especially where carbs and fats are concerned. This is the reason why people get addicted to fattening carbs as dopamine is elevated and does not get a chance to process properly due to the fat saturated cells, and we always feel like we need more. Eating a balanced diet high in fibre, moderate protein and fat, moderate to low starch can change the gut flora and improve health. I used to be a chocoholic but I hate it now apart from straight coco, knowing what is happening inside my body. It’s really disgusting. Especially about how it tries to manipulate our brain aswell, pure glucose with very little refined sugar and moderate fat and an abundance of fibre keeps the body happy and is the cleanest way to eat for me anyway. And fruits are not bad just eat them in moderation as you would instead of a dessert. Take care.

The French for the longest time ate white bread & cheese, croissants, brioche, all refined carbs and fat, guess what they didn't got fat on it! same thing Italian like their white bread and pasta, ALFREDO!!! It is not that simple! what is the problem with a hamburger in America? The bun most likely has high fructose corn syrup in it, vegetable shortening in buns and fries, High fructose in ketchup and most likely they wash it down with a soda or other sugary drink sweetened with high fructose corn syrup!

I bet you if you ate whole grain bread, mustard, and a low fat meat like turkey or chicken, that would be a good sandwich that wouldn’t spike insulin and store fat. Brown rice with no butters/oils and low fat meat. You can eat these carbs, it’s just what you eat with them.

I don't know about this because the body needs the carbs to properly digest the protein otherwise you get a stress response and raise cortisol which also stores fat. If it is a lean meat there is less fat to store
