Nicely done! What is that bracket you are using to hold your drip tube? TIA
ОтветитьImpressive, really raising the bar on what the standard should be. 24/7 water changes omg!
Ответитьperfect filtration system
ОтветитьWhat the power usage per day?
ОтветитьPlease, where did you get the UV light
ОтветитьDid he say it looks like the fish are floating?
ОтветитьMate! This is what I have been looking for over 2 yrs!! I have googled for so long to find a video on silent overflow. You have explained something I feel stupid knowing that it us really so simple. Thank you mate, you have made day 👍
Tag this as an aquarium silent overflow system. I would have paid for the knowledge.
Thanks again legend 👍
Extremely informative and one thing surprised me the most was clearity of water maintained for a year and a half, and still going on well!
👀👍🙂
Can u use K1 in a saltwater sump
ОтветитьThat's cool an all an all I use is sumps.but that's just just too much.too much junk too much stuff to keep up with it's just overkill.ill stay with my normal sump.i don't do water changes but once a year 50 percent an have perfect readings in medium planted tank.
ОтветитьAny website sell sump kit for 55g or 75g?
ОтветитьHow are you moving the K1 media, is it an aerator or wave maker on the 75 gallon?
ОтветитьDoes the UV light counter the benefits of the good bacteria from your media? Probably a really dumb question, but I get the benefits of killing the bad bacteria but it just came out of a media focusing on keeping healthy bacteria.. anyways maybe I am missing something. Thank you!
ОтветитьWhere are your heaters in this setup?
ОтветитьWhy not put the drain at the left side, and fresh water in -maintain at the right side. To me, this is most efficient use of fresh water. The dirtiest water gets discharge out first, and doesnt come in contact with fresh water. Kind of a waste of effort to treat the water then drain it out eventually. IMHO, I believe you will get even better water parameter by changing the drain position.
ОтветитьDo you have a plumbing diagram, I want to move over to a sump but I have to see a drawing to make sense of it all and your setup is top notch. Although I think I would have to put in a high/low water alarms just because I’m terrified that I would flood my house. Lol
ОтветитьReally nice, I love aquariums, I'm inspired here and there. I'd like to make one like yours but unfortunately I don't understand what all the tubes are for in your case, being Italian I don't understand..:/
ОтветитьI have been lucky enough to see this setup first hand! Especially the work done in the basement to shore up the support for the weight. An absolutely amazing setup. Tell Tyler Saxo says hello!
ОтветитьI just bought a salt water tank, I don't know the capacity of it yet. I want to put guppies only because I loved them as a child growing up. My tank is like a half oval bull nose tank. I bought it at habitat for humanity and have no idea how it works. I know its got a pump and 3 compartment built into it on the flat back part of the tank. I don’t see any holes with outlets or returns on it, just a simple hose that shoots the water back into the tank. I would appreciate any help you can give me. Please lol
Thank you, Hector. If we can chat some other way please tell me how? Thanks again for your help
What’s ur method of cleaning filter socks?
ОтветитьTo give a good jump start With the ammonia breakdown. I highly recommend getting some aeration stones inside the sock chamber. Not a side the actual sock . But in the chamber. Adding oxygen will help so much 😅
ОтветитьHow did you stir or agitate those K1 media?
Ответитьgood job ..8/10
Ответитьwhats the trick to not getting primer/glue all over the place?
ОтветитьThis is the best filtration system that I've seen yet . I like the construction because you can actually see the water change as it cycles which is better then the fx5 and 6 . To me I can see it doing more than what it was designed to do,, like a giant water filtration system for outside environment that may have contaminated toxins like ponds, lakes , rivers or even our oceans if you think big. However it may be possible to create a patent for every home that may be in an area where there is city water that is contaminated with lead, nickel, High concentrates of salt and calcium that is to say if you have that kind of imaginative idea. Just the same I wish good luck on your idea. I will be subscribing to you next month. Please and thank you for your time.
Ответить29 gal tank the square brick with the hole in the middle a JACK SHIT,
magic sponge ?
MARINEPURE BIOFILTER MEDIA DRUM + JBL Oxygen test kit
Ceramic rings a chip ( SHIT ) the Square block absolutely don't do a thing
Use seachem matrix
magic sponge ,cleaning industrial supplies purchased the long ones.
Ceramic Carbon Water Filter Cartridge 10".
0.5 MICRON NOMINAL WASHABLE CERAMIC CARBON WATER FILTER CARTRIDGE 10".
This is a beautiful setup. The fact that you have 0 nitrates means all that media and sump baffles and hydroponics are completely useless :) Your constant water change is what is keeping the water clear and 0 nitrates. You probably don't even have a cycled tank in there because you'd never have enough ammonia to startup bacteria. It's a great idea and I'm going to copy it! It's a lot more difficult for me to get access to a drain and water from my tank as I'm on a concrete slab, but i'll hack something together. Gorgeous fish and great setup!!
ОтветитьWhat’s simple about this?
ОтветитьYou are the only home aquarist that I have seen who has used aquaponics to clean water. I had a 1000 litre African tank changing 200-300 litres a week with nitrates hovering around 120-160ppm to trickling water into overhead plants (devils ivy) . Nitrates down to 10-20ppm , 1 monthly water change at 40-60litres.
You have an awesome setup
I’m setting up my first sump on a 125 gallon Discus tank. I would love more detail on your auto change set up. I have to use RODI with remineraliz every and kh booster. Can auto changes be done with “mixed” water ? I
Ответитьnow i am dreaming again thanks . I am first gonna make it small if thats works i make it for my big tank....
ОтветитьGreat video, well done
ОтветитьAmazing filtration system, the slow but constant water change is brilliant... Why the aquarium looks like an overcrowded desert?
Ответитьcan i get more info on that bedding you get from walmart, ive been buying filter media on amazon and im looking for another solution that doesnt cost as much. also how many gph would you say your adding with the constant drip system. is that basically an RO filter? do you dose for chlorine/chloramine?
Ответитьgreat explanation, I will build now for my tank
Ответитьceramic rings, k1 media and god knows what else. hmmm ok explains the value of fish
ОтветитьMore complex and expensive than I would want but very impressive! The perfect system!
ОтветитьHow did you create the aquaponics for the plants?
ОтветитьGreat video, I love your sump tank. Are you able to draft out a diagram how it works?
ОтветитьI have well water that uses a water softener. PH is 7.5 and about 8 on hardness, so I'm thinking I might not need that 3 cartridge system for an auto change ??
ОтветитьGreat system and that orange piping looks cool the only thing I would change is get rid of the ceramic rings and replace it with biohome ultimate its amazing stuff
ОтветитьI like the constant water change on the freshwater system. The plumbing on the salt water system is quite nice. I personally have all-in-one tanks due to limited space but I do like your methods. :)
ОтветитьI have one tube up and one tube down and if it leaks this time around I'm calling a plumber. I hate plumbing with a passion. This is a horror video for me. I say this in admiration.
ОтветитьWhat overflows have you used on your tanks? Herbie, Bean Animal, and or Durso? Which one do you like the best? which one is the quietist?
ОтветитьWhat company is the piping from.?. And how do you Glue it together.
Ответитьwhat brand is the 3d backround on your tanks ?
Ответитьwhat soil substrate are you using for aquaponics system ?
Ответитьon the constant drip system are you conserned with Chlorine and Chloramine from water provider ? or is that handeled with the filtration system
Ответить
