How safe is a 2008 xc70?

They was safe - comparing to other cars. Now in top 10 most safe cars.. there is no even one Volvo model.

damn do they have to use the ones with the B&W sound system? Shesh if they don't want it I will gladly take it. Joking aside, I do wonder why they are using the Ultimate versions, instead of just the base models.

It is so sad how ,,Volvo ,, broke its name, Older models were good but in new models too many problems are made in ,,CHINA,, components and very bad quality

The Volvo frames may be excellent, but their move away from physical buttons/dials and forcing drivers to fiddle with horribly designed touchscreens while driving at high speeds is mind-boggling stupid & insane, and should be illegal

Maybe a bit conservative in construction, little boring in design and not "fancy" but always solid, reliable, comfortable and concentrated on safety, comfort and precission. Volvo puts on the 1st line only life tested values. I love Volvo for their philosophy of crafting super everyday cars. The day I got my 1st new Volvo was one of my best days in my life. I was driving many cars but Volvo is supersolid.

Its all marketing. Nothing exceptional. XC40 marginally passed the new side test in US. They make the cars to pass the test, same as many cars. Nothing special

Any possibility Volvo can work on bolstering the safety in the event of the side-impact crash on the driver's side? I was unfortunately on the receiving end of that (of a maniac that completely disregarded the rules of the road), and, although i walked away, i am still dealing with some significant fallout over six [6] months later. What also immensely concerns me now, in addition to having to put up with the Hummers on the road, we will soon have Tesla's Cybertruck which looks like it belongs on the battlefield. Perhaps Volvo can look into creating their vehicles with an even stronger safety cage to compensate for whatever impact that monstrosity will have. I wonder if Congress will seek to issue legislation limiting the "Cybertruck" as an impact with that thing (from what i've seen in preliminary crash data) looks ghastly to say the least....

If they are so concerned with safety, how do they allow some door locks on the V40 to randomly lock the occupants INSIDE the car?

I think volvo is the most save car. BUT i also think it's a very ughly car. I don't like the swedish design. Volvo, ikea etc..... I loved the german cars....

My late husband would crash a car every two weeks. He had no insurance. He would drive like he stole it. Most WERE stolen because he had no license.

Volvo safety is a myth. If buy a Volvo for safety, you are simply deluded. Today Volvo definitely lost their lead in safety. As they don't have anything else, they are just crappy cars.

Volvo maybe safe, but OMG they are so unreliable. I gave up on Volvo after 40K miles of trouble and when the engine needed replacing just outside of the warranty, with a full Volvo main dealer service history. They wanted £10K + labour + vat to replace and Volvo UK washed their hands of it.

I have an XC60 Ultimate 2023. I have owned Porsche BMW and Mercedes cars. This Volvo has build quality that is second to none. It may have been built in China but the quality control is excellent.

Volvo did a open patent for the seatbelt so every manufacturer could use it for free in their cars. Seatbelt has saved over 1 milion lifes according to a Uk study.

I'm driving a 2021 XC40 in retirement. It's my 5th Volvo. I have great comfort in driving a safe and fun to drive Volvos.

THE NX DOES HAVE IT. CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN WHAY VOLVO DIDN'T ADD ANOTHER AIRBAG??
