It's not a competition. Do both. I have zero pockets by doing both as a routine.
ОтветитьI use both! I find that string floss works better on my front teeth which are crowded, but I can't quite get into the back (still have my wisdom teeth) and use the water flosser on the molars.
ОтветитьIs it weird that I use both?
ОтветитьHow do you stimulate the gums and what do you mean by that?
ОтветитьDo both it’s worth the 5 min investment to protect the beautiful and healthy teeth god have you
ОтветитьI use both methods actually, because I want to be sure after using the flosser, (I find that using a stick flosser rather than the traditional string is easier for my fingers), that I get all of the food debris with the water. Then I brush my teeth and finish off with mouthwash.
ОтветитьWhat is your recommended water flosser?
ОтветитьDo BOTH
Ответитьi never really got in to flossing as it required quite a lot of tention to get it to slide between my teeth and at the front i still have a bar at the back of my teeth from when i had braces so there it's just a pain so is witched to a relatively cheap but well reviewed waterfloss and i'm a much bigger fan of that then string floss.
also listerine has a hidden pro, if you have a cavity you will immediatly know when you use listerine (it usually burns/mildly hurts, but when you have a cavity it just really rally hurts to use it :P
always liked listerine specifically for it's burn, it might not be 100% related but it gives the impression that something is definetly getting done :P
Is it okay to use a very fine sandpaper called emery cloth between teeth?
ОтветитьLove this video you did a great job doc
ОтветитьShould you use the water floss prior to brushing?
ОтветитьThis article sucks.
ОтветитьYou just gave options instead of letting us know the difference between water flossing and string flossing as mentioned in your caption
Ответитьwater flosser waste me many batteries but I do need it
ОтветитьI brush, floss, and use these small miniature brushes that you push in the gaps between teeth and have managed to hold on to my teeth at age 70, by brushing etc after each meal, and if on occasion l drink something between meals: swilling straight after. I recently got a water flosser, which looks identical to the one in the video. I charge it once a week, and l use it once each day, but l put a small strip of sellotape over the charging socket till the next charge: because l noticed a few specks of water occasionally made their way into the socket. I go to all these lengths with my teeth, because 45 years ago, l had a couple of fillings: and apart from the fact l did not enjoy having them, it was a wakeup call: and l have religiously cleaned after each meal for decades, to prevent anymore fillings.
ОтветитьI do both might be over kill but at lest i know im good
ОтветитьI knew pretty much everything you said already but I still kept watching because you’re such a great speaker! Thank you for the lovely lesson
ОтветитьThank you for this video! I wish I knew all this info and we had some of these items when I was younger. I wouldn't have such a mess in my mouth.
ОтветитьFlossing is a pain in the ass… takes too long, string untangling from your thumbs and of course bleeding.
= Water flossing, like a tooth brush makes like easier. But, not as effective as flossing.
No idea what life was before the tooth brush… definitely must of sucked.
more debris comes out with water floss. Older folks needs to use gentle water flow. Gums will recede if used too aggressively.
ОтветитьWhat about toothpicks?
ОтветитьUse both. Neighter one does 100%. The water pick removes large particles but does not scrap tartar. The floss will scrap tartar but doesn't massage the gums.
I found that once I used both, there's a big difference.
xylitol gum people! xylitol gum people! xylitol gum people! xylitol gum people!
ОтветитьThis video got me more excited to floss. I don't need to be so aggressive. Why did I just find this out lmao
ОтветитьA lot of waxed flosses contain PFAS. It's best to look for ones without it if you prefer flossing. I prefer my water pick and interdental sticks, and chewing a xylitol tablet after eating.
ОтветитьI floss with string and a water flosser. Trouble is I occasionally pop a crown off!
Ответитьwhy not do both? i just do. i start with string then i find the water flushes out whatever is left, if there's any
ОтветитьIs it better to floss before or after brushing. Every dentist i asked has a different answer
ОтветитьThis guy doesn’t even floss himself
ОтветитьSo which is better? Can you floss once and water pick once? I prefer to floss after eating meat or other foods that you can feel between the teeth, but when rushing in the morning, I prefer to use the waterpik
ОтветитьThe best is the one you're use consistently!
ОтветитьThank you, super informative.
🏆🏆🏆
water flosser stopped the bleeding in less than a week, string did not ever
ОтветитьI always thought it was funny when a dentist forces the floss violently and then tells you it's not normal for your gums to bleed
ОтветитьI use a Water Pik & set it to ~ 7.5. That works well for me. A dentist told me flossing is better than water flossing. I disagree because string does not clean between the gums and teeth on the buccal and lingular borders. What are your thoughts?
ОтветитьPrefer water floss
Ответитьmy ex-dentist floss my teeth very aggressive and bleed my gum. it was painful when she did that.
ОтветитьFloss tip:
take 6-8 inches and connect the ends
make a double knot so you have a tight loop.
pull the loop with both hands and tighten the string at the end of your thumbs.
drag the string laterally between the teeth to get inbetween without hitting your gums and clean.
Drag laterally to get out the string
reposition your hands so you have a fresh area of the loop for the next teeth.
I think my dentist uses piano wire
ОтветитьI have braces and every time I try to string floss I end up breaking down and crying bc it’s so hard especially cuz my teeth r crowded w/ braces. Water floss has made my teeth feel clean in ways I can’t anymore with floss. Thank god for water floss
ОтветитьI use 6# fishing line.
ОтветитьNo More Cavities Brian Cusp All the secrets. Brush with bakiing soda stopped my gum problems.
Ответитьi really wish they taught real stuff like hygiene in school so sad how I'm learning now at the age of 26 the damage is done but i appreciate what you and all the other dentist on you tube is doing thank you.
ОтветитьBe careful with your mouth. In 2012 after dental cleaning I started to feel weak and strange. Over a period of a month or so got so weak could not stand. Ended up in two hospitals for 2 months fighting infection and eventually ended up with open heart with what I was told was Streptoccocus Mitis which ate my aortic valve.
ОтветитьGreat video I have to say I laughed so hard when you said people go violently into the gums😂 Thanks for the demo🙂
