I have a pc at home so I bought a Lenovo duet for simple college note typing but it’s horrible and can’t connect to any wifi not even my home wifi. I contacted Lenovo support and basically didn’t do anything to resolve my problem waste of money.

Dell XPS 13 at 749$ seems like the best way to go in terms of value for the money. Not too cheap, not too expensive. I just can't get used to ACER. I asociate it with Fiat cars. I'm a brand snob. So be it!

You had till you recommended the Acer Chromebook 714. Obviously you haven't done any research on this device which has been horribly plagued with nothing but problems. From bluetooth, keyboard, track pad not working to consistent speaker crackling which is a carry over issue from last years 713. Acer Spin's we're top notch in 2020 and have slipped wore and worse each year since. So on paper sure it is early a perfect Chromebook, but unfortunately in actual practice it is an absolute disaster. I really wanted it, but even the one I had for a week was crippled by pretty much all those malfunctions.

There is no problem going into a coffee shop and not taking out a 1k+ laptop, nobody cares. I think this is a really bad perspective..

Wires are for suckers. 🤪. Kidding. I get it. But the future is wireless. I'm pretty good at predicting future tech. What product provides the most function for the least cost and has the most user accessibility generally = winner. Most people dislike wires. Most people can't really tell/care about the difference between 128kbps and flac, radios are just as cheap as 3.5mm ports.

its so difficul to not recommend the macbook air m1, its literally perfect and if youre a student or know one, its 899, and used or refurbished its even cheaper. speakers, build, its fast, powerful, the only issues is storage but if youre not gaming or a intense dev of some kind, its worth it.

They are making these laptops so good, you can flip them over and fry your eggs and make pancakes.

Cannot believe how superficial this review is… all about buying a device as a gift ? Who even does that ( or can afford to). And all about what the devices look like and who will be impressed ! If i am looking for ‘ the best’ i am want to know performance, speed, chipset, hdd size, ram, connectivity and any bundled software. This review is so shallow a fly couldnt drown in it !!
