The more sound format support, the better- I'm also ok with keeping that out of the initial cost of the unit, for those who don't want those formats (My Marantz is like that for Auro). To me, totally worth it, but I can understand the flip side for someone who this is somehow too much/complex..

I'm Hopeful that the new line from Emotiva throws in Auro and DTSX-pro

Could you add the new Nakamichi Dragon (Sound System) to your list. I'd like to know your opions on it.

I find myself listening with Auro-3D / auto-matic most of the time. My surround channels (7.2.4) are much more active than with Dolby Atmos. I’ve rewatching old movies and hearing sounds I missed. I think Auro 3D is a game changer. I have a Denon x4800h

Th DTS pro only makes sense if you have over 11 channels minus sub. considering the vast majority of models only have processing for 7/9/11 its really not necessary. I don't care one bit about Auro 3d. it can go away lol

Wow that's a hell of a lot of research. You deserve a thumbs up for that alone! Great illustrations btw.

Great work as usual Jon!

Loving the detailed info.

One thing I did notice was no HDR+ or Hybrid Log-Gamma to compare to Dolby Vision for example. I know it was mainly about audio standards but you did compare two video standards in the mix.

I know its not an Audio Format, but what about including in your lists Audio Calibration Formats like Audyssey/Dirac? Thanks

You nailed it Jon regarding Auro 3D. It’s the Auromatic up mixing (particularly with multi channel sources) that make Auro 3D stand out heads and tails above the rest. Great to see it coming on strong. Keep up the great vids as always.

Great video-Would like to see the possibility of some of these formats arriving with firmware updates. Buying a new receiver just for a format is not something most of us can afford if we already have a new receiver.

Hey buddy, my CONGRATULATIONS! You've done an excellent job of research...I totally agree. Clearly there's a format that's probably out of the equation. Thanks 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💯👍🏻
