War Thunder's Grind Problem

Dog crap game with bad balance

I thought they have improved the game's grinding. Downloaded it yesterday. played for 2 hours. Uninstalled it again. I guess high tier vehicles for the dreamers in this game and I don't have that much of time to waste.

I just hate the fact that you need to buy every tank before the tank that you actually want

If Gaijin made a grind similar to WoT than I would probably would not have quit the game after a week. I like how WoT works as the experience is based on the success of battles and it does not take 50 real life years to research a single vehicle when you don't have premium unlike War Thunder which would take 10 centuries for you to get top tier for free.

I know this might sound a little bit strange, but hear me out. What if War Thunder was NO LONGER FREE, but cost 15-30 dollars. In exchange for this, there would be 0 repair costs, tanks would start off with free FPE and parts, every single tanks required research points would be cut in half, and there would be a campaign mode like experiencing WW2 as a Sherman fighting against the nazi's, or being a german Tiger fighting against the Shermans. If they were to implement a system like this, there would definitely need to be changes to what I have said, but I think you get the overall theme of what I am saying.

The game is getting more and more a bull shit game. Why ?
... I am now for over 2 years online. Besides I am myself a technical developer. But what I see in the development is totally bull shit and active politics in WT.

Where should i start???

1) Forget the kill analytics ---- It is totally unrealistic. Example ? A 600mm dart cannot penetrate a bmp2m in front because it is absorbed by the gears. Really ????
2) The heat-seeking-rocket AAs around BR 9-10 cannot lock on Helis beyond 2km. But the stats says it can lock on targets beyond 5 ! .... Gajin answered "The helis are not producing enough heat to lock on". Really ????
3) The full T80 is bouncy like hell. Even from behind into the tower it the tower there is a good chance to to kill the crew, or even to destroy the breach. Really ???
4) The Russian has the most powerful AA (Pantsir + 2S6), one the most (BVM) powerful tank (MIG what ever, that kills you from 10km altitude), and one of the most pwoerful just
5) The server performance. ....
.... and so on and so on.
... and i didn't even started with the 1-time-spawner-shit

The main problem is: Gajin knows that and does nothing. That is not highly complicated, but they decide to thrown more verhicles into the game !!!!

Fazit: The old players doesn't care because they have money-making line ups. The newcomers are fucked up because directly killed always.

Good thing I like low tier tanks more, high BR has too much stuff to keep track of.

I quit playing War Thunder because Excessive grinding.

Who ever thought making it ok we’re German tanks vs German tanks. American tanks vs American tanks and so on Is an idiot. This game is going to hell

i personally think this is all the game needs:
-25% rp points required for new permanent vehicle (all)
-make rp accessible to everything not to one singular research branch

The grind problem was when i didnt recive any silver lions when i destroyed a tank

Dude I love the game but the grind feels just impossible in defeating especially when you're playing and you just can't do good enough to get a decent amount of research so feels like your effort is in vain and they don't care about how much effort you put in like I like modern tanks and I want to be in modern tanks but the grind to get there is impossible it feels like I've been playing for about 3 years now and I've only made it to 6.74 almost every but trying to get past that feels like it's impossible because I can't play and do any amount of good at the game

I honestly have no one on my friendlist that wants to play modern combat vehicles ... In general modern warfare is insanely boring and cheesy. Thing is grind is a huge issue even at the start , it's lame literally my whole friend group quit we made it up to tier 3 and then everyone uninstalled except me.

Unfortunately test drives for top tier vehicles would destroy win rates. Instead, Gajin went for their typical "make top tier premiums" strat and ruined it for everyone.

I have 500 hours in this game (at least on steam) and the max i got was to tier 3 with like 2 tanks

I could play 200 hours of Eve Online for free before having to pay to speed things up......
Meanwhile in this game It demands paying right away, horrible.

i didnt know all these years sence 1.43 patch that premiums only good for tree you bought them on ?

Its not as bad as wot console grind trust me

World of Tanks has a far less severe grind/economy than Warthunder, and that's saying something as World of Tanks is hardly a good role model for good, player/consumer friendly games.

Been playing for nearly 4 years and only on rank 3 planes lol ( I research every plane in every rank)

I have this problem rn i cna research the ferdidnad jag tiger or m48. Im 7.3 on ground but on air im 5.7 or 4.0 i have this problem alot because i dont wanna grind every thing at once.

Finally got to the top tier of my choice... hate this game now. Fucking snail.

i remember play war thunder is because at that time they advertise as ww2 game, so i dont care about modern tank,heli,jet and not even gonna play it

I’ve played many tank and plane games where I had access to all or most tanks and planes from the outset. The grind is completely uneccessary for fun, the fun is in learning and becoming skilled with various GV and aircraft.

Reduce all research costs by 50% or I'll step in

Ahh... The FUCKING GRIND.

I cannot express how effectively this stupid grind ignited an oil field of anger in me.
Not only are you already getting uptiered and, possible like me, have a massive skill issue, you also have to deal with miniscule RP and SL gains as a low tier. Researching anything that isn't a reserve takes weeks of going on and off of WT especially when you aren't a fucking interwar fighter ace. It's always losing all of your spawns in 5-10 minutes because of skill issue (unrelated currently) and only gaining around a few hundred something RP and a dozen hundreds of SL at best. For me, this caused me some anger issues and long story short, the lack of a newbie friendly grind (atleast for me) made me leave this game. I can handle a grind, yes, but not a grind that forces you to suffer unless you feed the snail.

Another way to help the grind is to eliminate repair costs.

I think that maybe if you allow like Leopard 2 tank able to use with F5C as an example, but only for custom battles grinding another tech tree while using another tank not from tech tree wont allow you to spawn with it

How do you buy and use talismans

Honestly as a new player with no premium my way of grinding is to just have fun playing so whenever I get burned out I just take a break until I feel like playing again so I don’t feel hopeless trying to get top tiers

as an overwatch, paladins, csgo and valorant player. why the fuck does a pvp game have progression at all lmao, if you want any progression make it mininal, but really it's not a coop or single player game there's no good reason for it.

I simply want to fly some planes, I hate war thunder, I want war thunder to fail financially, I want to use all of the planes, ships, tanks, I will not grind, I will pirate models, and I will port them to gmod, they will not stop me, and they will not know my location

this is why i play tanmk instead

You know what's the best grind strategy for me? Buy a nice prem aircraft (Plagis Spitfire for example) and then enter simulator battles -> hunt for AI units.

Nah, just lower the grind. I work too much to have the want to spend a month playing one tank all so I have to grind to buy a new one. 7 years and I've never made it to max tier on any country, I've uninstalled this game more than anything else.
