god billy is such a sweet heart god just remembering that children had to live through rapture
ОтветитьCRIMINALLY UNDERRATED CHANEL HOLY SHIT I AM FUCKING ADDICTED TO THIS
Ответитьwhen she sais the soul is living within us but also beyond us, she's already comflating what that soul within us might do to help others as the soul litself being outside of our body, it's such a collectivist way of trying to brainwash ppl. And Eleanor is in essence the ultimate antidote who puts the individual liberty her mother ants to take away from everyone, first!. And that's what I liked about the ending. true classical liberalist who knows how precious the value to choose is. But If I must say, it's a bit contradictory that she would then be allowed to be shaped by the player should he harvest all the sisters and kills everyone. I guess, in a sense, Johnny Topside is her personal cult leader.
ОтветитьMost dad game ever. The good ending on my first playthrough made me pretty much well up. 9/10 Would dad again.
ОтветитьMan, if you still think communist/marxism philosophy is not a problem, like the objectivist one which you so masterfully debunked, just means you have not red enough about it. They are both cancer to the society. And that’s bioshock’s point… Ideologies are cancer, and that’s implied in the name. When it comes to reality, both fail miserably… Because they fail to take into consideration the human side of things. They both avoid/neglect a part of the whole which makes us human.
ОтветитьDo you know that there are theories that the thinker is Shodan from System Shock?
ОтветитьActually there is a way to turn off the prompts that come up after you successfully hack something. In options you want to turn adaptive training off
Ответить>the arenas are too clearly telegraphed
Cut to Bioshock Infinite, where you round a corner and come across yet ANOTHER open area with a bunch of tears visible. Gee I wonder if there will be another battle in 20 seconds.
HOLD THE PHONE! Delta totally did see ghosts in the official game trailer.
ОтветитьAs someone who did 0 deaths runs in buoshock 1 and 2 back to back buoshock 1 is waaaaaaay harder
Ответитьyou forget the most evil way to harvest them
help them gather Adam then at the vent killed them
what about the other endings? the one that Eleanor takes Delta soul and puts it in herself so that he can see through her eyes , that was fucking weird but apparently thats the most “ good will “ ending
ОтветитьPretty sure the answer to most answers is "2 years of development :("
ОтветитьSorry if this is a tiny thing, but thank you so much for putting the music in the description. I love music, and when an essay has good music but I can't find it, it's maddening. Thank you so much!!!
ОтветитьMonty Zander, Wow, this made my day brighter! Thank you!
ОтветитьI feel the need to answer your question from the end of the video. Why is Lamb upset if you've made Eleanor a selfless person? It's simple really, it's because it's not based on her plan, nor is it truly born of the collective. It's all from a singular person, Delta. Delta has inflicted self onto Eleanor regardless of her morality at the end. Delta's values, Delta's beliefs, Delta's Self is imprinted onto Eleanor. Not Sophia. And due to her own sense of narcissistic refusal to admit that anyone could ever have a hold over her daughter, that anyone else besides her could've raised up the true messiah of Utopia, the fact Delta has achieved something she failed to do and, more important, imprint himself onto HER child, that SHE raised, granting her a sense of self-identity through Delta's actions, not Sophia's, is disgusting to her. So regardless of what you do, Lamb's pride and hypocrisy refuses to acknowledge that Delta was the better parent to her child than she ever was. That Delta had more influence and stole away all her plans. It doesn't matter if Eleanor is selfish or selfless. Sophia is angry she didn't have a hand in achieving it. And more importantly, Eleanor is still thinking independently from Sophia's collective and perception of utopia. She is her own person and not a product of her cult, but of Delta's imprinting. And that is why she tries to suffocate her, regardless of what you do.
ОтветитьThere is a massive problem with Sofia's Lamb ideas, as well as all collectivists.
They don't want happy people. They want slaves.
"To tear away selfishness" is to tear away identity. To leave only a husk to serve others.
Only when People choose to be selfless, even if they can be selfish, does it have any meaning or any valued good.
You can not force that, you parasite.
Sin Clair feels like what atlas was intended to be in bioshock 1 . Also I didn’t love him but I respected him he never makes us do anything he lets us have free will when killing grace.
ОтветитьDamn I knew people from the UK didn’t have a good sense of humor, but damn that Dave Chappelle special take is horrendous. Wouldn’t be surprised if you didn’t watch it though.
ОтветитьI'm gonna call bullshit on that Jordan Peterson bit. I saw that clip and he wasn't crying "because people were making fun of him on Twitter." In that clip he's talking about the emails he's gotten from people who were depressed or suicidal that claimed his "clean your room" philosophy saved them from a very miserable and a very short life. Peterson is a shill and and grifter but being emotional because someone took your advance, as obvious and cliche as it is, and was able to lose their desire to kill themselves is not something to hold the against the guy.
Like I enjoyed the video up to that point but I know for a fact that clip in specifically is not what you said it is, and I absolutely despise people lying to my face.
did you know that bioshock two had a arg all about a man searching for his daughter and he dies in bioshock 2 opening audiolog you can find fun fact
ОтветитьAs someone who's played Bioshock 2 several times, and rescued the little sisters every time, I had no idea that the Big Sisters fight were optional...
ОтветитьI think the Eleanor twist is better than the Would You Kindly twist, becuse of the way it reframes every choice you made throughout the game. Choosing to rescue or harvest is no longer about choosing between your ethics and your survival, it's about teaching a very impressionable Eleanor how to treat the innocent and helpless. Choosing to spare or kill Lamb's lieutenants isn't about whether or not you viewed them as deserving of death, it's about the values your teaching Eleanor. Bioshock 2 let you play as a big daddy, and the gameplay is constantly making you experience the first part of that title, but the twist makes you remember that the second part of that title still applies to you, and forces you to look back on the kind of parent you've been & see the monster or saint you've turned an impressionable little girl, who views you as her sole guide in this world, into.
ОтветитьI find it odd that you disparage BioShock 2's seeming lack of lore, and then disparage sections like the Atlantic Express.
In one short section we see more of Rapture's history, and further showcase that its philosophy isn't sustainable.
I appreciate and love how long this is <3
ОтветитьInfinite was my first introduction to this series, and after I had to experience 1 and 2 (though my friends said 2 was not worth it). I ended up playing both back to back and by the end I firmly enjoyed 2 more. I liked the story in 1 more but definitely felt more imersed in 2. I also loved being a proper Big Daddy instead of a simulated Big Daddy. Both are just fantastic though, amazing even.
ОтветитьSurprised that you harvested the little sisters so much. Just like the first game, the little sisters will reward you with Adam and unique perks and tonics. I remember 1 tonic giving you more adam from the little sisters when they harvest a corpse for example. You still end up with most of the plasmid upgrades instead of having any adam leftover
ОтветитьEvery time I play Bioshock and think about the underpinning philosophy of Rapture, I think of a saying by Kevin Carson where he described "anarcho-capitalism" as an oxymoron, because the capitalist system actually relies on the power of the state; capitalism is defined by entitlements and privileges granted to the ownership of capital, and these entitlements are made possible by... The State, and its Laws, and Those Who Enforce Them.
Ответитьidk... i cant help but feel the ideology is the issue, it will never be done "right" or no one person could ever run a large group, i dont think ever. long live capitalism baby!!
Ответитьso did people need an invite to Rapture or not? Where did all these poor people come from? Stupid. Glad I never played 2 after the disaster of 1.
ОтветитьIdk if a lot of this is B roll just for the sake of getting footage but the veteran Bioshock player in me was cringing so hard when I was watching him dump armor piercing rounds into a brute splicer. YOU HAVE ANTI PERSONNEL, USE THAT 😭
ОтветитьI like bioshock 2. It’s very cool. I like the gameplay and I enjoy the atmosphere a lot. The game still looks pretty damn good to me, and it may not be as philosophical as Bioshock 1, or as famous. But I think it’s pretty neat regardless even if it’s got flaws for sure… still better than infinite if you ask me
ОтветитьI think that lamb killing Eleanor even if you are the pacifist still makes sense. Maybe it's just me but I think that Lamb was not as community minded as she made herself out to be. My Interpretation is that she believed that only her way was the right way that only she could bring about the future she wanted. That's why she dismisses Simon and his church because it's not her method. So when it was the big daddy connection to her making her good and not her plan she wanted to destroy it. Or maybe she doesn't view the players actions as true selflessness because of what he is.
ОтветитьYour political bias is showing, again. Might want to check that.
ОтветитьKeep your personal opinions out of the video. I like the comparison to factual events that reflect the games storylines and ideas but keep your whiny opinion out of the video okay?👍
ОтветитьOne thing I never got over is that you don't feel as big as a Big Daddy in terms of HEIGHT and the visor effect. You should be looking down at the splicers you fight through those iron bars on your face.
I don't care about balance. This is an immersive sim.
I get all my news about UK politics from The Sun. Same as getting all your US news from CNN...
ОтветитьJim Jones wasn't lying America is Babylon with all this you know what the happy people going to school telling kids it's alright for a boy to be a girl
ОтветитьA masterpiece, thank you!
ОтветитьGotta say your view on the philosophy of socialism/communism not being the issue but the leader is ass backwards. If that were the case the system would have found seating at some point and been successful on its own regardless of who preaches the word or who’s in charge. The problem is no matter who’s in charge its fails and leads to disaster because the socialism/communism system itself is flawed and always turns into starvation and authoritarianism. To make all equal requires pulling a lot more ppl down than up because it’s obvious that it’s a lot easier to make everyone evenly poor than evenly rich. I’m not saying your dumb or some shit at all I just think your view is romantic and optimistic given the history we have on those systems failures.
ОтветитьThank you for mentioning that the people of the People’s Temple were held at gunpoint when they drank the poison. People forget that aspect of it and act like it was a mass-hysteria event instead of a mass murder.
ОтветитьHuh , ya know as an American I knew the origin of the phrase and I feel like that's pretty common knowledge here in the states.
But I hadn't considered that other countries would hear us say it and not know the origin.
Language is fun
Love your channel but why does your accent make you say poo-are instead of just poor
Ответить"Whats more capitalist collectivist than american news corporations all shilling the same lies at the same time?"
American news has been owned and operated by 3 letter agencies within the federal government for decades, which is why they espouse things in support of the status quo and lie so often. Which is representative of socialism, not capitalism.
Ironic that you dont know basic stuff like that and you actually believe that a free market with freedom of expression is even remotely comparable to an authoritarian regime of gun point wealth redistribution centered around collectivism. Which one will be more collectivist?
And referencing DEI corporations as collectivist as though they didnt come into power through direct government intervention and funding. Learn a thing or 2 about government systems and philosophies before you go around espousing the most morally bankrupt and obviously false talking points anyone has ever heard. This entire rant was just outright sad.
Dave Chapelle and Jordan Pete catching some half baked strays over here.
