I can definitely see this being my future as long as I live in California and it stays as corrupt and liberal as it is now.

This scene is a literal nightmare. You can see Anakin looking away in terror several times as he looks down, realizing everything the Jedi said about a Sith Lord hiding among them was 100% correct - but due to his desperation to save his Padme, he was willing to sympathize with Palpatine. I do not feel Anakin turned to the dark side by himself. It seems like Palpatine has the ability to manipulate his emotional state, and once Anakin had finally snapped emotionally, (helping kill Mace Windu) his spirit, if you will, became weak enough for Palpatine to penetrate and turn him to the dark side. I'd imagine flipping to the dark side comes suddenly. It's not something you ease into... which is why the dark arts are not promoted by the Jedi, they know the temptation to flirt with it - believing you can handle it, but then it consumes you completely if you get too close. Anakin was nudged into this direction. It wasn't natural.

you have to question anakin's judgement at this point. how is he just going to bow down to Palpatine's zombie lookin' ass? also, you can tell his brain is completely fried at this point, he's wheezing and mumbling "gooooooooood". smh

Anakin & Sidious union within the Darkside was so strong it shift the Force so much that Yoda felt it across the other side of the galaxy.

I laugh everytime when Anakin shifts from "Oh no, I've just helped killing a Jedi and betrayed the council" to "Alright then, Imma kill the rest of those children and friends now, too yo" within a split second

Never noticed the voice change with Palpatine when he puts his cloak on. Granted his vocal cords were just fried, and it could be said that he was channeling the dark side while sensing the emotions Anakin was feeling ,which you could see brought him great pleasure that he orchestrated all of this and had Anakin right where he wanted him, glorifying at what he knew Vader could be. But either way that voice change is spooky stuff. Like the hood signified with the dark side somehow hides/ masks how he sounds. Thinking of it differently like that definitely casts new depths into Sidious’ character.

Anakin is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. If Windu kills Palpatine, it will spark a Civil War. Billions of lives could be lost and Windu would have been lost to the Dark Side. And seeing Windu give in to the very fear and anger that he judged Anakin for having, staging a coup to stay in power. The Jedi and the Sith become indistinguishable. "He's too dangerous to be left alive!" are the very same words Palpatine used to justify murder and now the most powerful Jedi in the Order has done the same.

This is the all time best story of hero turned villain and not just any hero like big time well know across most the galaxy hero turned villain . Then they had to try and hide the fact Anakin was Vader only a handful of people knew .

I had no idea that Luke looked like his father, while Leia looked like her mom!

In my humble opinion there has never been a more: evil, cunning, intelligent & better written villian than Sidious. A great work of fiction.

Ian McDiarmid is incredible here. His emotional embellishment and revelry in his role as the embodiment of the dark side is phenomenal. I love the way he delivers the last time. He’s so fun to watch as Sidious.

His entire reason to be a sith was to learn to cheat death. However being that it never existed His transformation is based on a lie. That's how he was able to renounce the dark side when he died 30 years later. He could never be a genuine sith because he never only did by desperation and fear during this scene.

I wonder if it's annoying for Sidious to have to act as if he gives a shit about Padme, or if he really just enjoys toying with his new puppet's feelings
