Dont quote me on this, but I once heard a rumor that one of the Ice Age movies- I believe Ice Age 4 specifically, was originally supposed to be about time traveling to the future.
So the scene that represents Ice Age 4 could arguably still stand if you consider humans to be the final evolution of sloths in this universe.
