i upgraded from i5-7600 & 16gb ddr4-2400mhz ram to ryzen 7 7700x w/ free 32gb ddr5-6000mhz ram after 6 years. Its a better deal than 13600k bought @Microcenter.

Very interesting charts showing that 5800x3d is behind all Ryzen 7000 series CPUs in gaming where I think its not fully true. There are some games where 5800x3d is behind but taking average it should beat 7000 series. Its worth to mentioned that if you prefer games which are able to fully utilize additiona 3D cach you should go with 5800x3d cause there is no better CPU right now

For the ryzen 5 7600x recomendet gpu is minimum rtx 3080 or 6800xt btw thats how fast the ryzen 5 has become.

I would really recommend 5600 non x over 5600g. The price is basically same and 5600 is better in every way than 5600g

In the process of building a 7700x with cheapest riptide mobo with 32 gugs of 5600 ddr5 cl36.

The 7700x does seem to be the best processor for top tier gaming only, and I was thinking ddr5 6000 cl 36 should be used at minimum (cl32 isn’t far off in price though). The b650 boards seem much better than the b550 boards in comparison to the x series, but I think if building a high end build, going for the x670 is a better long term option. Graphics card should be at least at 6800xt/3080, but they do struggle a bit with games like assassins Valhalla and cyberpunk, next gen will handle them much easier, but worth the extra money is the question…..

I’m running a B550 Tomahawk max Wi-Fi motherboard, Ryzen 7 5800x3d CPU, 32gb ram, 2TB SSD, 750w power supply, GPU? I’m eyeing the RTX 3070 TI, but I’m more than likely getting a used 3080 lol.

I have everything but my GPU and I’m taking my time and weighing my options 😅

Should i go for a 7700x or a 7900x? Ill be getting ddr5 memory with a 3070, not sure about the cooler and board yet. Is that good?

So, with the 13700k recommendation, if you need to save a bit, absolutely skip the DDR5 ram, unless you’re doing some pretty niche stuff the difference is so minimally it’s not worth the extra cost.

Cool video, but for productivity tasks you've missed things like Intel quick sync which gives it a massive edge vs amd. Look in to Puget systems for more data on the topic. Hardware Decoding/coding of h265/h264 cannot be overlooked when building for video editing.

You can actually go realky low if you are willing to go through some trouble. Look for a b450 board with updated bios(they are really cheap rn), and pair it with a r5 4500. Only 70-80 bucks and it absolutely stomps the i3 10100.If you are patient and willing to write some emails asking if the bios is up to date, you can get a cpu mobo combo for the price of a 5600g. With that combo you can make a px(excluding gpu) for 300 bucks.

I currently run a pretty low tier build (Ryzen 5 3600G + Nvidia 1660 super + 16gb ram).. I might have to start looking at Ryzen 5 5600G as an upgrade

3600xt 1070 -----> 5800x rx 6800

Just a warning 7600x motherboards cost almost as much as the processor itself, if not more.

If you are on a budget either go for i3-12100F for a intel built or Ryzen 4500 gen 2 or Ryzen 5 5600 gen 3 if you have a bit more money in your budget for CPU

7600x is still not a good choice bcz of price

Do you think the motherboard has a significant impact on the performance of the system? Currently looking at the 7700x as the AM5 socket interests me but there are large price differences between the low and high end so it's quite hard to choose.
