Ok fellow pianists, music lovers, haters, everybody, please stop. First of all, this is an absolute masterpiece, a legendary performance for the ages, with such exquisite musicality and mastery that it is out of this world. On one hand, this is the reason why so many YT trolls keep repeating "ThIS is NoT REal", because it is indeed unbelievable. But IT IS REAL. Any real pianist, who has dedicated years to the instrument, can tell immediately by ear that this is someone (a genius) playing without any artificial speedup.
Furthermore, there is a video of the pianist playing this piece, which is clearly not sped up (look at the arms, the sleeves etc). Finally, I know who the pianist is, and in which competition he played; I want to respect his decision to stay anonymous so I won't further play the trolls' game and reveal his identity. I just want to say that it takes max 10 minutes to find out, if one really wants to, but maybe kids nowadays, spoon-fed with information since ever, have never even learned the skill of searching for something themselves

This is one of the most incredible performances ever uploaded to YT. Better still, the pianist plays very musically amidst all the technical challenges.

This is the first time in my 32 years as a musician that I actually dropped my jaw... I was on the edge of my seat. This is a landmark in recorded piano performances.

For people wondering if this is sped up, I don’t believe that’s the case and here’s why. I work as a producer––mainly in pop and alternative music, where time and pitch shifting are not only ubiquitous but often used as an effect rather than simply a practical tool. There’s a variety of options when it comes to software for this, from features that come standard in every DAW (digital audio workstation), to expensive 3rd party tools designed to manipulate audio to greater extremes with fewer artifacts. Fewer artifacts is the key term there. While the tools have come a long way in the past 30 years, anyone with an ear trained to listen for this stuff can still instantly pick it out if you push the tempo too much. While with good software you could manipulate a recording several bpm without much audible degradation, you simply cannot speed a live recording up by say, 20% to create a virtuosic performance without any audible artifacts. Particularly on something as delicate as solo piano with tons of harmonic content and lots of open space, at least some artifacts from manipulating the tempo would be there even with the best software, and I don’t hear anything out of place. If you want a point of comparison, try setting the YT playback speed to 1.25x or 1.5x and listen carefully, the audio will not sound right. Even with pro grade software some of those artifacts would still be there (albeit far less noticeable to the average listener). I think this recording is the real deal.

This might be the most epic and best piano performance I have ever seen! It seems unreal to me and I am just left in awe and are so grateful to be able to witness this virtuosity. For me personally, this is one of Liszt's most difficult pieces ever written and of all of his "warhorses" this is by far my favorite. Speechless ...

카르멘판타지 연주를 들어보니 이 연주 역시 빨리 감았다 생각됩니다. 1.1~1.2배속에선 음파의 변형이 그리 크지 않아 실제처럼 들립니다.

Liszt certainly wrote fireworks for the piano. But just like fireworks, experiencing them once or twice a year is sufficient.

I found the same video on Chinese platforms. That's funny!! In the descriptions he says he is an amateur pianist, who works as a porter and plays in his spare time. He made this video as a test at the conservatory to be admitted as an amateur pianist!! So more bullshit!!
