2023 Lotus Emira Review // We’ve Ordered One

I'm 6'5'' and I've been told Lotus is notable not capable of having a tall driver?
Is the Emira / Evora have the same leg room?

I’m sitting here in my S2000 feeling a little underwhelmed now. 🫤 Had heard of this car but didn’t know much about it. The Toyota engine is a definite plus. Wow just wow! Now I have to start saving my pennies for this Lotus.

That supercharger whine is top tier

Drove one at Eagle's Canyon. Really put together well (although the cockpit is cheap), very communicative. But Cayman level???? C'mon, dude!
Still, a superb effort from Lotus.

Those AC vents look like the ones in my Mazda, not complaining, they look good 😊

The 1 issue with lotus is that it's owned by the CCP.

All Chinese companies are indirectly owned by communists.

The sad truth is that the Chinese are awesome but their government is very tyrannical.

They are the reason north Korea is the way they are and they are presently 1 of 2 country's that have active concentration camps in this day and age.

I made 2 mistakes in my life: 1st I bought an Evora 400 and an Evora 410 sport, spend 80% oc the time at dealer desperately trying to find solutions to tons of problems. I wish you good luck,

A lotus is THE sports car I want. The Emira looks almost as timeless as the Elise. I'd skip every car between a MX-5 and this if I could ever afford to.

I remember watching a recent video on how to properly manage the ignition guard in nearly one 1 1/2 movement with the thumb only. If i recall correctly, the streamer placed his hand flat on the center console right of the ignition switch. Enough to flip the thumb under the guard and press the ignition quickly without fuss. Unfortunately the video is buried in my history. Guess i watch too much YT. :p

Im gonna baby my Emira so much an never risk damaging her. I cant believe im saying this but the Emira just went to the top of my favorite cars with the Porsche 918 spyder at number 2.

My CSX Type-S revs to 8600 rpm and costs a fraction of the price

Look is nice but it is generic, like every modern car.
That infotainment screen is not only ugly looking but it will be outdated within 3-5 years.
I wish they could show more of gear shifter mechanism.

I’ve seen that red with the rims black and that spec is beautiful…these cars don’t get enuff respect..I want one just because it’s priced beautifully and it’s not a car you see at all…

as an owner the stop start button, tickles me. Absolutely no point but a lovely nod to supercar spec in a cheeky way!

The problem is most of us that ordered one gave up after waiting more than 18 months, myself included. I know many that are now waiting 26 months for this car. Sorry, but Lotus screwed up big time. On top of it there are only 39 dealerships in the entire USA. To get a minor service item will take a 3 day trip for many of us. 1 day to get there, another for it to be serviced, and another to get home. So instead of partnering with Volvo and cross training their mechanics, even a minor issue like a tail light now becomes a 3 day jaunt. Shoot, they cant even get their dealership in London , on Piccadilly open on time.

Hi. Thank you for this video! In it you captured the sheer joy of the man-machine connection made possible by a stick shift connected to something other than a Luxury Couch. My question: Is there a height minimum for the driver, for reach to pedals? I'm short. And is the clearance from the road any higher than in the 1970s Europa, which I am familiar, and would in no way clear the pothole craters in the Boston area. Thank you!
