10 Green Screen PRO Tips

Hi! I am using a green screen for still photos that will be converted to full body cut outs. I have continuous lighting, but do I need any strobes? Thanks!

#5 has the added value of reducing the sound of the floor something which last year ruined the audio of one of my green screen shots. Nothing like a squeeky wood floor sound in a scene in a stone church :-)

Over the years I've done a few imrovised greeen screen shots under far less than optimal conditions. I was able pull a proper green screen in all cases without much problems in all cases.

The one thing that got me a little desparate was the attempt to achieve the same effect not with a proper green screen background but just a photo as the clean plate taken before the actors came in, I never got that to work nicely so we had to find another solution.

Question:- I am trying to change the background using my green screen. I am doing it via Adobe After Effects CC14 (Keylight). There are some little problems which are coming in editing the background but the most major one is I am getting white light borders on the edges of the body of the model. I tried so many things but couldn't get rid of them. Please help.

Hey Dude thanx for the post. I do have a challenge for you. What advice would You give in terms of shooting and keying in high ISO800+, 4k with a shutter speed 200th (this is why high ISO)?
Situation shooting the mute person with a high speed gestures. (most of 4K goes in 25-30p at this time).

Hey Guys ! need your help ! shooting a green matte for the first time and any tips on Shooting a Green screen for a full length (full body) shot?
My initial prep was lighting the green screen first with 2 lights on opposite sides from equal distance and intensity.
And since its a full length shot, for the floor , 4 1KW lights shooting though a 12x 12 diffusion.
Then Light the Model with a Soft Diffused source like a Aperture 120D with a Dome. Will this setup work ?
my Main question is 1. if i light the floor , will the green color bounce from the floor and hit the model ?
2. should i always use a backlight ? or will the top light diffusion will naturally give a nice look.? All Feedback and help are welcome ! Thanks for your help

Green screen muslin is not terribly expensive and absorbs light really well. It does wrinkle easy though so you can get a handheld steamer to get them out.

There is nothing professional about those lights. They aren't casting light evenly. What are you talking about?

You didn't follow your own advice. That green screen was wrinkled as hell. Get a steamer.
