This organic groove is so well balanced, such a nice touch !
ОтветитьThis was top hit during our high school leavers party, imagine it still rocks. Like hell today
ОтветитьYou're young
ОтветитьGem of a song and it takes me back to the days of Wells Fargo in Bulawayo. Big shout out to my Big Brother Ebba Chitambo.👍👍👍
ОтветитьNever heard of The Meters back in the 70s but did finally hear this tune on Jazz 91.1 FM on the way home from work and had to hear it again, just ordered the cd. AWeSoMe!!
ОтветитьStill playing this Album since first bought in the 80s...Great Memories 🕺🏿..I feel like a king 👑
ОтветитьOh n its good 2 they will go far
ОтветитьThe meters albums were scarcely available in uk so all tge groove kittens chase round like daft twats with tha portable record players very sad they didnt hav the balls to just buy an album unless its been sampled
ОтветитьNew Orleans, born and raised… my parents bumped this one!! Omg 🔥🔥🔥
ОтветитьJust beautiful
Ответитьnot sure this has been mentioned but Widespread Panic more than does this song justice in concert. Keeping this jam alive and current
ОтветитьNext listen: sex machine Sly & family stone🙂

ОтветитьSaw them live at jazzfest in New Orleans after Phish played back in 94-95ish. Fucking amazing!!
ОтветитьThis song slaps
Ответить❤️
ОтветитьThis song brought back memories of the golden age of Radio in my native Zimbabwe. Those days there was no internet and we had to listen to songs to know them ( and appreciate them)
I get reminded of my father.
Good music forever
oNE OF THE MOST EVER BEAUTIFUL SOUL SONG ON THIS EARTH
ОтветитьGetting me through the floods here in Northern NSW Australia, thank you
ОтветитьI was down buying records and they were playing this and of course I bought the album . This is unbelievable.
ОтветитьHell yeah
Ответитьif funkadelic could legally operate heavy machinery
ОтветитьI found this AMAZING record browsing through the RYM ranking of 1974. In #93! Go figure. This is like a treasure in the bottom of the barrel. A real joy.
ОтветитьEasily my favorite song on what is otherwise an entirely awesome album! Did "Jazz Funk" exist before this?!??!? Amazing!
ОтветитьLoved eating some mdma and going to see George Porter and the Funky Meters.
ОтветитьTimeless! What a beautiful groove and a magic bass line. From the greatest era in popular music. How good would they have been live?
ОтветитьThank's a lot Mister Curtis MAYFIELD ! look to your children for all you done as lagacy !
ОтветитьThis song is a hidden gem and would make a great sample for other songs
ОтветитьI bought the album when it was released back in 1974 and this Awesome Funky track stood out for me.
It still sounds Fresh and Brilliant in 2021 true Funk and Rock Guitar blended together like Parliament/Funkadelic with Eddie Hazel Guitarist Supreme. ♥️
how underrated, under-appreciated, what does it take? People listen but these guys never got paid. Life is ruthlessly unfair
ОтветитьBoogie's Freestyle Finale , what a Tune !
ОтветитьThat was way back in 1975/76 thereabouts.
ОтветитьI first got hooked to the track "People say" boy the syncopation and the bass rythms just got me gyrating with amazing foot taps. Then later as the album progressed got to "Aint no use"and I melted in its juices.
ОтветитьA funkedelic track that writhes through my veins and send me asunder in the cloud nine of musical ecstasy.
ОтветитьIt is no use or It ain‘t no use
ОтветитьStill fresh in 2021
Ответить47 years late but I still have time to say it's amazing!
ОтветитьAwesome
ОтветитьClassics will live forever ❤
ОтветитьIt's as if Pink Floyd played funk. I discovered this song today, in the beginning of 2021. Barista in coffee shop I unusually go to had his ipad hooked to jbl speaker or smth and this masterpiece came to play. DAYMN! I had to come up and ask the name of the song. Now it's in my earphones fo'eva 🎧

ОтветитьI hang my head in shame having not heard this before but its stunning. Listening in August 2020. Are you ?
ОтветитьAlong with James Brown and Parliament/Funkadelic the Meters make up the holy trinity of Funk.
