I work at a restaurant and for my job it was REQUIRED everyone who works there to take a class on serving alcohol to customers. In that class they state the bartender at the bar who's serving alcohol is REQUIRED to keep an eye on their customers and how many drinks they've served them and see if they're at their limit yet. It is your duty as a bartender to make sure you customer's are safe, and if they get into a car accident cause they were drunk you're also at fault.
