The problem is nearly everyone who opposed the plantagenants were just as if not more corrupt than the plantagonants themselves, they were all power hungry traitors who probably should of been put to death for denying the rightful monarchs, and the commoners and peasants weren't much better either, only children were truly innocent during this time, and just look at current day UK. It's pretty obvious democracy and the parliament have both failed, democracy is just a fancy word for mob rule, a system in which the majority crush the rights of the minority, democracy is just two wolves and a lamb voting on what's for dinner, I truly think a slightly regulated constitutional monarchy with a senate with equal power would be far less corrupt than what we have now

Dr Dan Jones skipped over Edward I - Longshanks, who was a ruthless King who battled and conquered Wales, and builds Castles to surround Wales called the "Ring of Iron" , then tries to conquer Scotland, William Wallace (braveheart) Robert the Bruce.

I wish Dan Jones had not skipped over Edward I - it would have been a good piece in the Plantagenets story

I'm disappointed. I'm not a British or have any remotely historical connection, never had British history in school, don't have access to historical sources because being outside the Academia I don't know what ones to look for. Only after finished the part on Henry II we got to know that his son Richard was the one with the super famous sobriquet "the lion-hearted". So, it was so unimportant it's not even mentioned? John's sobriquet "Lackland" must have been even less important, it's not written in the family tree. But the real bad one, only when John's sister marries we even get to know she existed. Are we attributing the same value to women that people on those times did, so no need to even say their names? Now I suppose I must just give up on documentaries and start reading real history like in school times?

I think the English should be grateful and thankful to the French and the Norman French for how England came to be as a nation. And remember the narrator said Norman French, not Viking.

If we've learned anything these past six years with Donald Trump, it's that when you're in a position of power, you really have to be careful with words. And, yes, I know Trump really meant the insurrection to happen

The cruelty is on parr with how crime syndicates get rid of their opponents. Especially Mexican cartels. Says a lot how most present day noble family's got their wealth and status. They're distant ancestors were El Chapos or Escobars of their time.

The WHITE Europeans, the most hated people in the modern day. When the Europeans came across the native Americans and Africans both were still in the stone age and did not even know what the wheel was. Obviously the much more technologically advanced Europeans demolished them easily. Yet the African Americans tell us Europeans were cave men who have neanderthal DNA . Smartest cave men the world has ever seen

Matilda wasn't exactly "entitled" to the throne when she flat out refused to rule by the laws of England. Matilda was a stubborn brat who grew up in Germany where the Emperor/Empress could do ANYTHING without needing backing from anybody. Only the church could step in and say "yeah, don't do that" Matilda didn't want to play by England's rules and instead of just quitting and going home, she kept trolling on for a throne she wouldn't be allowed to have even if she won the war with Stephen.

Now this is the right way of doing a docu on the Plantagenet. All the actors speak French all over! All other Docu i watched before this the actors spoke English which is ridiculous and not historically accurate at all. Now people outside of England will know that for almost 500 years all the bureaucrat, nobles, priest and royalties in England doesn't speak English but French.

I feel like if Henry III was accidentally killed in the battle of Evesham, the nation would have shrugged, blamed it on Simon De Montfort, and promptly dusted off the bloody crown to give to the far more capable Prince Edward. Normally an army that is theoretically loyal to a king wouldn't dare attack a mass with the king in it but in this case, I doubt anyone much cared whether or not Henry survived the battle and most people probably kind of hoped he wouldn't.
