Wow now THATS how you play it. It's like watching professional dancers, skaters or high quality loving porn ...you realise the mistakes you've been making all them years !
Thank you
At a certain score everything killed will give you another ship and smart bomb, and you'd clock it at 1 million. Those were the days. It had more buttons to press than any other game released at that time, I remember the reverse was activated by the joystick thumb, joystick up down, thrust, fire, smart bomb and hyperspace, with hyperspace being in the middle of the control panel. Sorry, nerding out.
ОтветитьWatching this on big screen! My god, back in the day who would have thought it? Absolutely Brilliant!
Ответитьfor real this game was no joke
ОтветитьUsing this strategy always felt so wrong to me lol. I always felt responsible for the Humanoids and had to save them.
ОтветитьStill love this game my favorite
ОтветитьI'm 55 and feel like i've gone back in time when i see and hear this game
ОтветитьI'm building my own Defender/Stargate machine this summer. It's actually far more playable with an arcade "fight stick" (I have the wood grain Atari version that includes a track ball and spinner), but I really want to experience this one like I did when I was in high school. I couldn't afford to get "too good" at it back then, but I fully intend to once its up and running! Same with Asteroids. Two machines that really cry out for those original control panels.
ОтветитьThis game is still cool.I love the sonund as well.
ОтветитьMy older brother pass all the stages in atari 2600 decades ago, and the end is you get back to the first stage, is like you flip the game
ОтветитьI used to spend hours at the arcade playing this game
ОтветитьBest…. Firing…. Sounds…. EVER!
Ответитьspent a ton of quarters on this back in the day. this guy way better than me.
ОтветитьThat's why the teleport comes in handy when you get frustrated with these annoying enemies
ОтветитьAndrew vs all the assholes at the extended stay in chamblee
ОтветитьThars Andrew against all the hidden camera perverts,freaks,weirdos....aliens.....they make these weird noises as I DESTROY THEM.
ОтветитьThis game made me curse like a sailor. I swore those little bastards cheated lol
ОтветитьI remember how important the high score was and how humiliating it was to show up where you played your game and your friends couldn't wait to point it out to ya that someone beat it. I'd watch my 3 initials slowly sink to the bottom of the top 10 over the course of a few weeks and eventually disappear. took forever to get it back
Ответитьlove this game i am 56 played this after school............
ОтветитьDefender was great but Joust was the all time best!
ОтветитьCharles Ferguson
ОтветитьChas DAYvis Tibits
ОтветитьGood lord!!😂
ОтветитьIt was fun while it lasted. $.25¢
ОтветитьI am 58 years old and I haven't heard these sounds since the 80's. Defender was my favorite game and I'm sure I put thousands of dollars worth of quarters in that game. Oh my, just the sounds are making me get younger. I am ready to jump back in right now. So many wonderful memories.... This is just great. Thank you for posting this....
ОтветитьI have this weird feeling about this game, in a good way.
I never played it, and I want to play it.
i'm 38 years old.
The visual effects of this game were well ahead of it's time. The laser from the ship..
I'm an electrical engineer now, and doing this with the memory available of the day, couldn't have been trivial and I doubt it was cheap.
Now I want to spend a few thousand and buy it off eBay.
Ответитьthe best sound design of any game, ever.
ОтветитьTeenage Groot anyone
ОтветитьThe sound of the regular alien ships exploding is so weird. Never heard that sound before or even close to it.
ОтветитьThis was my SHYT!!!! I use to spend HOURS in the arcade playing this game in tournaments winning cheap crappy tuxedos for getting the high score or turning the machine over.🤣
ОтветитьAmazing i never got half that far after a zillion quarters
ОтветитьNice gameplay! 😎
But that bloody butchery at the beginnig, though...😢
A superior game for 1980
ОтветитьThere was a guy in my local arcade in Portugal who was so good at this game he'd last hours and hours without losing. A small crowd would gather around him and watch him play. I remember after many hours, the game would into a very fast mode called hyper space or something. He was a bit of a local hero. What joyous lives we lived through our teenage years 🤣🤣🤣
Ответитьawesome
Ответить1982 at Fort Ord, California. I would play this game for hours.
ОтветитьDefender had aot of controls that made it very intimidating: up-down lever, reverse button, hyperspace, smart bomb button, thrust control, and fire button.
Ответитьbest ever arcade game.
ОтветитьI always sucked at that game, so I hardly ever played it. Galaga was my game!
Ответитьwhere ji get it and why they no brought this oot
ОтветитьThis game was fantastic I only wish I was good at playing it ! It wasn’t easy at all!
ОтветитьComing out of hyperspace and blowing up always sucks.
ОтветитьThis is very cool
ОтветитьYo tengo 60 AÑOS y coltaba clase hasta que mis padres me cojieron. Yo competía mucho por bulto convers. Saludo desde. PR.
