The benefits at home are easy enough to see. I own over 25 rods & most are 2-piecers. Because most are over 8' when connected i leave them un-attached. This creates headaches. I then started to rubber band them together, but the bands don't last and i have to pick-up broken bands and re-band them monthly. Less chance of getting hurt as my balance is better while accessing my favorite whipping spots. Another benefit is organizing my utility wagon without the lines tangling with the rest of my gear. What a relief not un-tangling everything after walking long distances to putting away my gear at the end of the day. For a couple bucks a pair it's a great deal. The color codes also allows me to categorize my dunking, whipping, jigging, and casting rods so everything is organized for easy storage and usage.
