Minimalist but 42 plants !! All different

I'm also during a low buy challenge. It started as a "no buy" challenge, especially clothes. But, i gained weight, especially on my *ss and thighs, so i need a few pairs of jeans for the winter. [well, i now got a few pairs i can wear, so maybe i don't need anything anymore] well, i do hope to lose weight gain, but i don't think it will happen. :/ Other than that, i don't feel i need anything.
I think it's silly to buy "trendy" makeup: it doesn't look good on everyone. sticking to what you know that works for you is perfectly fine. how's the challenge going for you?

Vera I laughed out loud after your purse one. Haha! I’m a purse/bag nut but I’m trying to get better. I love how pretty your backpack and purse are and the very simple lines. I think they are such a smart purchase. What brand are they? Your list is right on and I completely agree. I love the concept of low buy as well 😊 good luck with your move! How exciting!!

Vera where did you get those hanging baskets with plants in them?

smart items are kind of pricey. but you can get deals along the way if you do research. example: get an Alexa with the hub attached or combo. go more to the smart switch or outlet instead of light bulbs. try to stay within the same company/brand so you only have to get one or two skills on your phone . make sure your cameras are linked to the device video in the room you mostly are in . if you need music throughout your whole home get bluetooth speakers and make sure you pick up wifi extenders for bigger homes. and you could boil most of this down to a few items that make your life easier or run more smoothly. keep your minimalist list hand before going to purchase. i find getting an Alexa for the home with some downloaded routines in place lights come on and off during times you set setting a time for lights to come on when you get done work or with movement keeps you safe and shut off when the sun comes up . or set at 50% so your home does not look like no one is home.

This is a lot of great advice! Definitely trying to make 2023 a year were I buy less and sell or give away a lot of things I don't use anymore. One side note that I just wanted to add is about having house plants. If you are asthmatic, house plants can actually be bad for you, and make it harder to breath in your home, They can develop mold from over watering as well as release some mold into the air if they are dying. Just something to note, as someone with asthma who thought for a long time thought that house plants would improve air quality in my home and couldn't understand why my asthmas was getting worse The science as well about house plants actually improving air quality in a home is lacking. So don't buy if you have asthma or if you just want to improve the air you breath in your house. I believe there might be some plants that are ok for asthmatics, but you'd have to do your research on that.

I'm wondering what is the game that will come out this year and you are excited about? This year, I decided to finish the games I already have (I finished one so far) because I am sooooo bad at finishing things... This is a great challenge! I decided to do the same thing for books except if I have to buy one for university. I love your videos, I watch and rewatch them often because as a highly sensitive person, I feel understood. We do have a couple of Google assistants, but by far I appreciate most the one in the kitchen ("Google, find me a recipe for tomato basil soup" and "add it to my cookbook!" Lol). But I agree about many on your list, especially the purses. Loved this video!

I find smart things help me simplify my life... and makes it more cozy. F.ex music goes on in the morning, blinds go up when it's time to wake up... I love it!
Not to mention vacuum cleaner that does the job while I'm out doing something else.

There is no cheap or expensive alcohol. All the alcoholic drinks contain same ingridient named Ethanol (C2H5OH).

I thought Alexa etc was so silly until I moved into an apartment that didn’t have light switches on the wall for everything, it’s no nice to say, “Alexa, turn the lights to 30%. Alexa, turn the bedroom off, Alexa turn the kitchen off. Now I find when I’m somewhere else I’ll go to ask Alexa something and she won’t be there. Also, if my hands are full and I’m rushing around etc getting ready to go or anything- “Alexa what time is it?” Alexa, what’s the weather?” “Alexa what’s 58-27” I mean anything really. You get more and more dependent on it. You’d think oh I have my phone that’s enough but if you put your phone down, questions still come to mind. Or while you’re cooking, you can say, “Alexa add olive oil to my shopping list” instead of writing it down or typing it out in your phone that second. Or- “Alexa, remind me to call the dentist at 4pm today”

I’m not a big fan of smart tech, either, but I would love a smart thermostat! It’d be super helpful in the winter because when I’m gone, I can turn it down. But when I come home, I can turn it up to warm up the house. Same in the summer but switched.
And what’s the game you’re excited about? I’m bad about buying tons of video games when I have such a huge backlog.

I think I spotted a pilea (pannenkoekplant) among your plants. They're so easy to multiply, you won't have to buy any plants. I started with one, and now I have 9, while I have also given away 'stekjes' (cuttings?) to friends and family.
