The Million Dollar Mission was an absolute bust, and I'm not talking about the specific ones presented in this video, because these are some of the better MDM games. After a while, the gimmick becomes overbearing and makes the entire game lopsided; either you win $1,000,000 (only two ever did), you lose big time (definitely under $50,000, most of the time less than $10,000), or take an offer from the banker which usually is less than expected average value of the case by more than 10, 15%. I like the idea of having two, or even three million dollar cases on the board at once: adding only a net value of 250K or 750K overall seems like a safe, potentially cost effective way for DOND to respark interest in the show while upping the chance someone picks a case with a million dollars to be their own (compared to a bit of risk for NBC to put $6M on the board as one prize; keep in mind Matty if he had played to the end would've walked away with $3M.) Getting to the point of the mission where 7 MDCs, 10 MDCs, even 13 MDCs is just absolutely insane and isn't exciting whatsoever until maybe the very end of the game where you risk it all, flip a coin, and pray to God it lands heads up. A lot of the MDM contestants were also very annoying, especially the S4 Premiere 4 MDCs broadway lady, and the 11 MDCs grownup princess lady, and are nowhere near as deserving to play the game as people like Wesley Autrey for example who made his appearance at the tail end of S2). Didn't mean for this to drag on as a big rant, but the MDM, particularly late into the mission, is probably the worst special variation of DOND to date. I wish we saw more of the $1.5-$2.5M TP, as well as 2 chances for a Million Dollars (aka first night of the MDM).
