GAME SINS | Everything Wrong With Starfield

My modded starfield gameplay loop is absolutely amazing and everything ive ever wanted. im not bragging at all or being ironic. 76 mods later my game looks 2x as good as it did before, plays smooth, movement, animations, its very upscaled from vanilla.....i just feel bad for those who cant mod. pre-creation kit, ive already turned it into my dream game. They did a standup job delivering us a shell to work with. the modders paradise. i will say though, they didnt make it easy to work on...

Finally got around to playing Cyberpunk 2077 not long after finally giving up on Starfield, and the difference is night and day. Starfield is an embarrassment for a modern game, so far behind

When I started to play, it could not pull me in like older games, like Skyrim or even Fallout 4. After playing a while, the story nonsense kept getting bigger and bigger...
Where are the billions of people, the factories and the industry to build the huge war robots you see in a side quest line? Add this to all the inconveniences, the awful interface, the all in all sloppy done things with minimal effort, and I just lost the will to play. This is a sloppy 'minimal effort' Console game, sloppily ported to PC.
This game cannot be fixed. Modders may add a bit of fun and nice things, but the entire base of the game is rotten to the core - as you here succinctly pointed out. This cannot be fixed, as the old engine cannot be fixed obviously. But the same game on a new engine with all the bells and whistles would be a boring and bad game.
And while I liked Elder Scrolls games, I do not think the coming ES 6 will be playable: From Morrowind to Skyrim the story kept getting worse and worse, and every installment of ES left out important features from the ES system. Oblivion lost levitating, and a lot of other things, Skyrim lost the spellmaker too, and a lot of magical effects (water walking for example), so I think you will have 3 stats, a bit of magic and much hack & slay in a senseless 'story'. Made by Emil Pagliarulo (who is responsible for Starfields 'story').

Gifted and creative people long since have left, only Todd 'always knows what players want' Howard remains, with his use car sales rep attitude. Even Pete Hines abandoned ship.
Pity, but this seems to be the way of things with rich game studios...

Potential story fixes.
1. Instead of Barrett showing up to send you to Constellation make it Keeper Aquilus who says the artifacts have religious significance however you’re attacked by mysterious individuals with odd powers introducing the main antagonists and giving the player questions about who attacked them.
2. Have the player build up Constellation make the first half of the main quest finding and recruiting specialists while investigating the artifacts Sarah could easily be introduced as a soldier asking what happened at that mining station and what happened to Keeper Aquilus and go on from there.

One day, people will be able to perform the small act of self control known as "not pre-ordering" or "waiting for a week or two for some gameplay/reviews to crop up" so you don't waste your money, and the game and company responsible for shitting it out can fail financially because of it.

I look forward to those times, knowing very well that they will never come.

Oh hey, going back to skyrim is exactly what I did.

Bethesda made the Starborns pathetic. The Hunter, and probably many other Starborns, went through the reborning process several times. The Hunter in particular likely went through at least more than 7-10 times. He mentioned that he went through it so many times, he doesn't care about others anymore. Yet, he's a pushover. My character was able to "kill" him several times during our first battle. Keep in mind that my character didn't even go through the reborn process yet and barely obtained powers.

If you move at a specific speed through space and add more speed your new speed is now greater. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
The dual universe station mission is actually very cool and you can combine the two timelines into one where everyone is saved

Why do the word "Ohio" looks like a tractor?🤔

They could have fixed a good deal by just starting you out as a courier with a ship of your own. Had you get involved in a rescue of the Constellation member while waiting for your ship to get unloaded at the first landing site. Then give you agency over whether you even take on the mission to start with. Have the guy you rescue get wounded and his ship get torn up making his leaving that first world a very long way off.

Rebel Galaxy and rg outlaw are more fun games then this garbage

Once i learned they patched a bunch of exploits, i stopped playing because if I can't exploit a Bethesda game, it is no fun. And you can't mod it on Xbox. This is the game that needs updates and mods more than any other, but i don't blame the community for abandoning it immediately

I know several guys that upon playing for three days stopped and said that they would wait for mod support… They uninstall the game about two weeks later

If you're not using powers in fights, you're missing out.

The biggest video game regret of my life is buying and playing Starfield. My only consolation is that I can now appreciate videos like yours that explain it's idiocracy, bad writing, and bad gameplay. Thank your for injecting your wonderful humor and insight into Starfailed.

I've played Fallout 3, 4, New Vegas, Skyrim, and Oblivion since Starfield came out. I think I played Starfield for three weeks. Maybe two

And yet it was easily in top ten of best games of 2023.
