Unless everything can be thrown in the dishwashing machine, the mess will take longer to clean up than it does to make the recipe. Plus, the 30 day use-by-date on a good organic store-bought almond milk makes this a hard pass.

This is a stupid way. Almonds need to be soaked for 24 hrs to allow the phytic acid to leave in the form of a white foam. Next, wash the almonds, add clean water and boil. When it is boiling, you will notice a lot of foam and it has to be removed. Next, use a metal sieve to scoop out the almonds and remove the skin which contains the poison cyanide. Only then you should blend the almonds with water in a mixer to get almond milk.

Wow amazing and for this recipe. Just a quick question...is it okay to heat and boil the almond milk before drinking?

Order of operations seems wrong. Why not blend almonds in blender, then add water to soak, this will vastly reducing soaking time, then drain, add 4 cups water. Blend and stain. Save dishes and time.

With all ingredients combined, this is still about 4x cheaper than buying the pre-made milk.

Cashew milk is even easier to make with a cup less of water. Use a tablespoon of maple syrup for sweetness. You don't need to strain with cheese cloth. It tastes creamier with better flavor. Way better than almonds.

What about taking the skin off before starting the process?

I am just curious why we are draining the water from the beginning? I mean most of the nutrients are in the water anyway so why not use it aswell and why do i have to separate the almonds later on from the Milk? For me it sounds more delicious if i have the actual pieces in the Milk. I am just wondering is there any harm using those than not including it ?
