"Sometimes they don't even take the stickers off"!! Love it!
ОтветитьWow. So many generalised sexist comments in this video. Women who are into fish usually don't really care about the fish matching the fridge/ kitchen... But what do I know! I just love colours...
ОтветитьI got a solid white crowntail fed him color enhanced flakes now he look's tie die blue n green. He's now the king of my 75gal with just rocks and new java fern. I had the heat low like 75ish for two days bumped it to 80 he chilled out and ate alot
ОтветитьDo NOT buy the betta bible. It has a whole section on intentional betta fighting AND compliments people that do it 💀
ОтветитьHmm if you pay for fish that comes from factory farms like this then you're supporting bad breeding
ОтветитьSingle Betta In a 55 gallon ?
ОтветитьThank you for the info! Just ordered my betta a floating mirror for exercise!
Ответить❤
ОтветитьThanks for the tips, love that you believe in the power of books! Random comment, you're houseplants are stunning, too!
Ответитьyou never really explained why it's important to know how old they are?
Ответитьwere i get the betta book
ОтветитьI once had a betta in a 400 ltr heavily decorated cichlid tank, thrived for 3 years before it passed of natural cause,I wouldn't recommend people try it wouldn't end well most of the time
ОтветитьYears ago we gave a family friend a betta fish. She put it in a very large vase with live plants. It looked beautiful! That betta lived 7 or 8 years. So I believe the 9 years!
ОтветитьI have a Betta community tank and I had this crazy Betta female that was super aggressive and ate everyone's food. Only one with a huge gut, yesterday I found her gut exploded with the bronze Corys feeding on her. These fish have personalities to say the least.
Ответитьmine was 6 months old when i got her she was small i just guessed cuz female bettas are sold at 6 months old at stores near me and males at a year old
ОтветитьI had my Beta fish for almost 5 years. I don't know how old he was when I got him but he was full grown..
ОтветитьMaam...you had me at "Your poor husband" Subsribed😀
ОтветитьDoes the broccoli have cheese on it?
ОтветитьWith me and my fish it was love at first sight ❤ we picked each other! I love my babies❤
ОтветитьI always love seeing all your bettas ❤ they are so cute! Gorgeous babies! I bet they have fun being your little fishy models! I did that at petsmart at my own table with my bettas before!
ОтветитьI took in 3 bettas from my sisters one of them was in a dirty 2.5 gallon bowl the other was in a algae filled landscape and the other actually wasn’t bad because it was from my oldest sister therefore more responsible I moved the 1st fish into a clean 5 gallon the 2nd one I did cleaning every week and it is looking much better and the fish are doing way better than before
ОтветитьIf I have three food's can I feed my betta 1pelet of each?
ОтветитьLisa, thank you for posting this video! You’re so right about having Something happened and having no clue as to how to fix it when it happens. This happened with my last betta fish and the one I just lost yesterday so now I’m trying to do some research, lots of research before I get another Betta fish to make sure it’s not something I’m doing wrong which I’m almost positive it is but at the same time, like you said, I may be doing everything right and the fish still drop dead so it’s not necessarily my fault but I just have to make sure for next time that I have everything I need, Tools and knowledge before I purchase another Betta fish
ОтветитьLol the news report killed me 😂
ОтветитьNice video but i dont understand why bettas i get die in 1 week or so ? Even though they swim around in the tank and eat live and dry food
ОтветитьHi, Lisa. I hope your day went well. I watched your unboxing video this morning and saw one of your beautiful giant bettas which I have now purchased. I then watched this video with wonderful tips and a recommendation for us to read The Betta Bible, which I have now purchased (the Kindle version) and have started to read. Ten minutes in, and I can already tell it really is a MUST READ! I’m sure I’ll be buying the paperback version, too, as soon as I can. Thank you very much for all the ways you and John inspire and educate us!😊
Ответитьi don't know if i'm wrong but i think an older betta is bigger than a younger one
ОтветитьI think my betta is desensitized to my betta mirror, he doesnt flare up at it, it acts like a safe place for him. When I first put him in the 10 gal tank he spent the majority of the first day nestled between the mirror and the side of the tank
ОтветитьDo you have a video about caring for an elderly betta? I have one that is probably about 3 years old, and he doesn't move much most days, and it is a struggle to get him to eat. He only eats things that are on the small side (New Life Spectrum Betta Small pellets seem to be about as big as he is willing to eat any more, though I still try a variety of things of various sizes just in case he decides he wants something else). He won't move to get food, it has to be dropped directly onto his mouth, and even then he is often a bit too slow and it just bounces off or glances down past his mouth. And some times even when he gets a bite into his mouth, he spits it out after a few chews. And even though I put him in a tank with only 6" of water depth, that's deep enough that my success rate at getting food into his mouth is only about 1 or 2% - almost everything that goes in is wasted. Most days he won't eat more than 2 or 3 pellets (and rarely more than 1 pellet at a time, I have to try feeding him many times throughout the day, often with no success), although once or twice a week he will eat considerably more (6 to 10 pellets), and some days he won't eat anything at all no matter how much I try. It makes me very sad to see him so disinterested in eating :(
He can still see fine - when he does bother to swim around he navigates the tank just fine, and when I'm around I can see his eyes moving to follow me, so he's not failing to eat because of vision trouble. And it's not that he's sick - this started about 7 months ago and has been getting steadily worse, and if it were a disease he wouldn't likely still be around after 7 months untreated. Lately I've noticed sometimes he is flopped completely on his side at the bottom of the tank, in a completely open and exposed part of the tank, no attempt to be in/under cover at all. I think he's just sleeping, and after a while he'll get right up and move along like nothing is wrong, typically over to the filter (a Sicce Nano Micron) which he will support himself against so he can stay vertical.
His colors are still ok - faded some from his youth, certainly, but he's not completely losing his color. I had an orange betta that died earlier this year from velvet and he turned white before the end, so I know what it looks like for a betta to lose his colors, and this surviving betta (blue body with red fins) isn't anything like that. I know he's getting old and that no doubt explains everything, but what can I do to make it as comfortable for him and as easy for me as possible? Especially the feeding thing.
Man, that 'fish are pets not decorations' lecture was outstanding. Brava.
ОтветитьThe news part 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 ❤
Ответитьi got my kids one eyed betta barely hanging on.. im gonna cycle a planted tank for him lol
ОтветитьGood video 💯
ОтветитьI bought a baby blue colored betta and it turned royal blue with a hint of red, took us by surprise 😮
ОтветитьIs it ok to change 25 % water every day for my betta tank ?... my current routine is to change it every week and I do use RO water however after 24 hours of water change I do start to see minute dust particles within the tank. As days progress it gets more and more prominent. I know this is happening because I have a Rimless tank which is placed lil far away from the backyard entrance door so dust is always my enemy. I thought a skimmer will take care of it so bought a hang-on filter with a skimmer. This hang-on has bio media inside and mechanical media on the waterfall outflow however I still see those particles.
So now as you know everything I thought will be necessary for you to answer. Please let me know if it is ok to change 25% water every day. 🙂
spring tails ??
Ответитьwould you say to buying smaller betas for the fact they could be younger a thing
ОтветитьWhy add aquarium salt?
ОтветитьSo my betta bubbles I think he is sick he wont eat and he just hides all the time I clean the tank 1 a week and the temperature is 78 Fahrenheit I dont know what to dod please help!
ОтветитьMy betta had too big of a tank when he was first bought. His original owner put him in a 10 gallon while trying to rehab him from the cup. He bit his tail and it got tail rot. She moved him to a smaller tank and he did great. I got him and his tail started growing back like crazy and he’s made his way up to a 10 gallon and happy with his cory cat tank mates
ОтветитьAs a vet tech for 23 years I LOVE her humerus attitude. I GET IT !!
ОтветитьDon't say there's nothing u can do abt it!! S.P.C.A. can help animals,so why can't anyone protect pet tropical fish the same way??? If there's a will, there's a way...right??? Aren't these lil guys worth it also???!!! I don't get it,they're PETS too🥺😔👍😊
ОтветитьThat news skit was hilarious 😂. Very useful information and overall great video 👍.
ОтветитьWe have our betta Karl... Or should I say Karl the magnificent. He is beyond spoiled and has his special fluval tank with 8 different snacks, plants, hammock ,toys and floating log.
He is beyond spoiled and I just adore him.
Will a beta do okay in a 20 gal community tank with Platy fish, dKH 6-7, dGH 12-13, pH 7.5, 75 F? Nitrite sometimes goes up but < 0.25 ppm, no ammonia, nitrate <= 10 ppm.
Ответитьi didn't know what you water talking about until i saw the word "betta".
ОтветитьWhat's the name of the author for betta bible
