Why would you use the alpine butterfly for core shots? It can slip pretty easily right? would you put a carabiner in it?
ОтветитьAlways like your example and how to do it.
ОтветитьSolid knot to shorten modern dog leashes made of climbing rope. Adds an extra handle or loop to tie doggie bags, treat bag, water, etc. Plus taking some length off will help manage strong dogs that generate too much momentum if you give them a full 6ft "head start" on you.
ОтветитьNot the easiest or vest way to tie this but clearly done
ОтветитьNow tie the running alpine
ОтветитьPenis knot
ОтветитьI'd like to know on top of everything: how easy is it to undo...?
ОтветитьGreat for use with pulleys and work with mechanical advantage. Totally looks like a rabbit ear to me. Alpine Butterfly sounds cooler than rabbit ear knot.
ОтветитьIs there any knot name which can be used to tie two ropes together to climb and when the climbing is done the knot could be easily untied from the ground?
ОтветитьButterfly? Had never heard that monicker used for me genitalia...
ОтветитьYeah definitely sth else… oh maybe a butterfly looks like the else too
ОтветитьWhat else does it look like? 🤔
Ответитьmy girlfriend appreciates this video
ОтветитьMind outta the gutter...
ОтветитьA VAGINA!!!
ОтветитьHow do I tie a knot in the middle of the rope and connect it to a fixed object?
Ответитьyes, the alpine cock and balls.
ОтветитьGreat video, but you don’t show how you tighten the first end and how to remove at the end
ОтветитьIs this a dropper loop on fishing line?
ОтветитьSomething else 😂😂😂
ОтветитьYou are an excellent teacher
ОтветитьWe all know what it really looks like 😉😂
ОтветитьExcellent paced instruction. Thanks
ОтветитьNo one would want to learn it if it were called the Alpine D*ck Loop....
ОтветитьI would like to see some alternate ways to tie it, but I appreciate that it was not excessively prescriptive. Understanding a knot involves more descriptive instruction imo because so many are not just limited to one method of tying with only one size of cordage. I use a variety of different sizes but they are rarely the long hefty and very heavy climber type ropes. I am much more of a bushcrafter and backpacker, so versatility and utility are key things I go for.
ОтветитьThat was kinda difficult to do… there’s an easier way to do this knot and this isn’t it.
ОтветитьYou're right, it looks like something else
ОтветитьCan you tie the double butterfly with this technique?
Ответить🤣
ОтветитьWhat is the most secure loop knot you know of when I want to put weight onto both ends instead of just the loop like it was only a rope without any loop attached?
Alpine Butterfly Loop vs Dropper Loop? Or something else?
Looks like something else, what ?
ОтветитьHaha. I teach this knot in my adventure class and the students are always like…..Ms Thompson…this is NOT a butterfly. ;). I like your method. A little easier for them to understand.
Ответитьawesomely concise, no BS… great video. Looks like a peen instead of a butterfly
ОтветитьWeirdest way ever
Ответить"a little bit like something else"
O.O
I cant unsee it now!
This has always been my favorite knot too!
awesome and funny
ОтветитьThis is the most difficult way to tie this knot.
ОтветитьThat's what I thought it looks like too. we must be adults
ОтветитьThank you so much for this, I've watched so many videos trying to find a way that I will remember to do this knot and I've finally found it!!
Even the wrap around the hand method didn't stick with me which is apparently the easiest way.
i think it looks something else too
ОтветитьIf I'm rappelling while rock climbing and notice a cut in my rope, I could tie this knot. However, as I lower, wouldn't it just get stuck at the anchor system? Would there be something better to use? New to this.
ОтветитьIt does look like a butterfly, just not at the end.
Ответитьmuch better if you going to call it a "DICK KNOT"
ОтветитьHi. Can this knot be safely used to serve like a step/ foot holder for something like a single strand rope ladder?
ОтветитьI’m trying to do this on my lanyard it’s hard but I’ll keep trying it’s too long omg
ОтветитьThe bite of 87, the loop of 93
ОтветитьCock knot reference made me lol
ОтветитьIm convinced that inspiration for these knots comes from unravelling long garden hoses that have been dragged all over . Some say it's their earbuds but i say it's garden hoses .
ОтветитьHaha the visual aid for isolating a damaged portion of rope is great
Ответить+1 for stating the obvious. It doesn't look like a butterfly, it looks like something else.
