Phillipa Soo and Andrew Burnap have very nice voices. Nice to hear since some of the Broadway performers I’ve heard lately can’t hold a tune. There’s hope, yet.

I had the pleasure of watching Richard Harris perform this live. But until now I didn't realize there was an actual melody to the male part. Ha ha! But seriously, this is a wonderfulllllly talented cast and orchestra!

A musical time machine

There is a DVD from the Ed Sullivan show with several Broadway performances including Julie Andrews and Richard Burton singing this duet. Phillipa Soo, quite simply, is channeling Julie Andrews and her singing is simply beautiful! Mr. Burnap, and I suppose no one can quite frankly, does not channel Richard Burton. And though I very much enjoy (and prefer) the rich Burton tones, a singer he is not. Mr. Burnap is, and with quite a nice voice. By the way, that DVD has the definitive balcony scene from West Side Story. I suspect that we will never see the chemistry and sheer vocal and emotional thrills produced by Carol Lawrence and Larry Kert.

This orchestration bounces so well, I love this stuff.

Never heard Andrew Burnap before: such expressive heartfelt singing. And that clarinetist was really enjoying the music! This is a special recording. Thank you

All these negative comments, my goodness! This cast is phenomenal and bringing this song perfectly to life. All the people comparing them to other casts, well...if you prefer other casts, then go listen to them and stop with the negativity! Let us enjoy the beautiful performance by Pippa and Andrew!

The movie is still the best. Richard Harris will always be Arthur to me. I saw him at the Warner- 3rd row center in 1982. He was spell-binding…
