I was nudged by @NateBrightArt to watch @denni-jo's "Ghosty Cloud Pours", so I did, and I thought they were really pretty. Of course that was a couple of weeks ago, and my brain didn't remember exactly how it was supposed to go. Did I go refresh my memory before attempting it? Noooooo. That's probably why what you are seeing was my third attempt on this canvas! I'm glad I did it this way though, because I'll be unlikely to forget! Also, it makes it a bit more my own when I'm not simply parroting what I've seen. This is how it usually happens, and I often find myself fumbling my way through, and paving my own road.

I did remember about the bottle for the cloud mix, though! That tiny opening on the bottle does restrict too much from coming out at one time. Speaking of Cloud Mix, that's all @WillieBStudios doing. It's her Soft Body Cloud Mix, and I swear, it's magic.

My thought was that it would be fun to try the technique, and I liked the overall look of the finished product. It took me a rocky road to get there (as I said, I can't ever just do it the easy way), but I did get there, and I am enchanted with the outcome. Not only that, but it's ALWAYS fun to roll a marble around in paint, and to watch what happens.

I thought for sure that I had put enough paint and "design" on the canvas to get the whole canvas covered, but that didn't turn out to be the case. Now I'm kinda glad! I love the negative space on this! I'm so, so, SO thrilled with the non-lumpiness of my black! I wish you could have seen my face when I went in the studio, it was dry, and there were no lumps! I just stood there and stroked the canvas, and told it how pretty it looked. (What....you don't talk to your paintings? Just me? Okay then.)

I was not, at all, disappointed with this painting. I love the ethereal nature of the ghost mix, and the way that the gold and magenta play hide and seek in the petals. I love the negative space. I just love the whole thing.

My Pouring Medium is 1:3 parts Golden Gel Gloss to American Floetrol I do weigh it to make sure that I'm getting my portions right. This is the PM recipe from @EricaHughesArt . I found out about it from @MinaVillegasArt , and now I use it for many of my paintings.

I have always used a 1 inch ball bearing for my "marble". The weight of it keeps it moving, and there's no issue rolling it, no matter how thick your paint.
