As someone with a lifetime illness I agree with having genetic testing being done because I wouldn’t want to bring another human into this world to suffer like I have. Everyone should have a right to make their own decisions on what’s best for their situation. Not everyone is mentally or financially stable to take on a child with special needs.

When I was about to be born, doctors gave me a 50% chance of having downs syndrome. My father wanted to abort me but my mom didnt want to. I never got downs syndrome but even if I did i would rather still be alive then dead. At the same time i understand why people want to abort. Really tough.

Dear people , if a couple or mother decides not to have their baby that is tested positive for any type of birth defect, genetic, or otherwise please dont judge them. Most likely it is a researched, thought out and hard decision. Having a child with special needs is takes alot of patience, lots of decision making with unknown results, life changing and time consuming. If a couple /mother doesnt want or cant handle the changes and responsibility , they shouldnt be forced to have the baby . It can result in the baby being neglected unwanted and abused.
so please mind your own and dont judge anyone for their choice.

Women have now gotten this opportunity to decide for themselves in this matter in Norway as well. To me, it's a no-brainer, though, as nobody should be forced to complete a pregnancy that leaves them with a life long responsibility for a disabled child

When the parents die the state have to take care of them. The state don’t want to spend money in “useless” individuals and invest in other useful benefits for the society.
