2022 Genesis GV70 Review // Nearly Perfect Luxury SUV

How ridiculous, I look forward to seeing them on the road; innovative and probably better quality and reliability than traditional older brands. I have gone from Toyota to Ford and not sure how I feel about it so far??!!

Why I could never own a genesis is they have no pedigree. Audi was a group B monster, BMW has such rich racing pedigree, Merc has its roots as well. Genesis is like the dirty girl from high school, no matter how well it does later in life, you still remember it has a heinous past (Kia and Hyundai)

The GV70 is pretty great, but the service of the brand can be terrible. The Santa Monica dealership is the worst experience I have ever had with any brand in the last 20 years. They NEVER call you back reliably (I have always had to call multiple times to even just get an appointment), they NEVER confirm you will get a loaner ahead of the time, and the service valet is wrongly advertised by Genesis: The Genesis website says something like 'pick up your car wherever', but the fine print from the dealer limits this. The dealer and Genesis North America have different overlapping maintenance schedules that make you call them to ask 'ok, another maintenance alarm, do I NOW have to come)?' and any complaints about the dealership, Genesis North America brushes off with 'those are all franchises, we can't do anything'. So yes, the car is nice, the interior is great, but if you ever need ANYTHING from the dealership or the company, you may be out of luck. I will sell mine before the warranty is up, I'm sick and tired of dealing with an incompetent team.

Was considering GV70, but ultimately went with NX350-F-Sport instead. Not as many bells and whistles, but I know exactly what I’m getting with Lexus. Drove a relatives 16 year old Lexus ES and it STILL handles like a dream. That’s what convinced me to go back to Lexus. Not enough track record on the GV70 yet, and I don’t want to gamble $50-$60k. Nice looking car though.

Genesis GV-70 have a hidden camera inside the instrument panel covered by a tinted glass. Former GV-70 owner, car bought back by a Genesis dealer after 124 days without complete repair. Issues - self driving function and safety feature malfunction and the car accelerated and reduce speed by itself overriding the driver that almost cost a crash. Sensors systems when off at -2 degrees Fahrenheit when exposed overnight December 24,2022. Car had less than 12k miles at that time and only 1 year and 1 month old. I do not recommend this car for lack of staff trained in US to repair the car. Also, the car was 52 days parked and got rust on both sides and rear on top of the paint. The company said it was not under warranty. I had to pushed back until they bought the car back outside Lemon laws time frame. Buyers beware. Other issues brakes and rotors needed a complete replacement with less than 15k miles.

In fact I could easily go for the GV70 over the X3 And Q5, probably not over GLC (although I don't really like the interior of the very last GLC). Unfortunately on my market I do not have it It is only Hyundai and Kia available. That is a great car!

Based on your review and few others I bought my 2023 gv 70 in a sport prestige, and it's a beautiful vehicle inside and out. I just came back from a 5k miles trip and have nothing but good things to say. And their valet services are super handy as well.

Genesis is really hitting out of the park product wise. What's holding them back is the dealership experience. I have several friends who bought Genesis vehicles and they have nothing but dealership horror stories. Undeterred, I went to all 3 Toronto area dealer to check out a GV70 and what a mess. The sales people made it obvious that they could not care less.

Why would I give a shit about 0-60 in an SUV? The answer is I wouldn't. It's an SUV for fuck's sake.

And the 3.5T goes sideways on command better than the G70 even!! Yes you read that right - an SUV that goes sideways (sport+ mode) !!!! I loved it and am truly bummed at the price bump to $77k and the sad steering wheel and actual wheels on 2.5T by comparison. Their price/packaging is keeping me from buying either!!! Mostly that 2.5T steering wheel.🤮 😢 At $77k id be back at a X3-40i / GLC43 ballpark. And they all lose me at vehicles costing north of $70k 😅 and interest rates at 7% and 8%. I will hold out for when rates are back under 1% thankyouverymuch.

I drive a 2005 Ford Taurus i had it since 2009 it has 210,000 ML even though the odometer stopped working 3 years ago it's a beauty and solid it typically takes a quart of oil every 2_3 days

All I need for a good trade and a couple of hundred for a G90

I just got the GV70 Sport Plus and I love it............if you want fuel economy keep it in ECO mode!! This is my fourth Genesis and the brand just keeps improving! Great reviews guys........I have the 3d cluster and it's awesome.
