Given what happened with Tornado Cash and USDC's role in it, I don't believe USDC is a good stablecoin to use right now. I wouldn't want to use and hold a stablecoin that might simply blacklist my hard-earned money in the future.

So USDC is just a method for easily speculating in crypto (buying and selling) without having to actually buy or sell in USD. What is the advantage to that? Are there less fees? Can you hold fiat currency (not USDC, but USD) on trading sites, like Binance?

I converted some crypto to USDC yesterday, because I want to freeze that $ in a stable, liquidable coin for later conversion or transfer without having to link my bank account to the exchange or anything like that. I like it because USDC gives me plenty of options.

So basically if I invest in to a crypto and it blows up and I wanted to retain those profits WITHOUT selling it outright and turning it in to cash, I could put it in to a stable coin as sort of a temporary holding area? Is that correct?

Voyager pays 9%. And is easier to use than BlockFi. Celcius pays 10.51%. Not as easy as voyager. Yield has a way of paying 20% but not available to US residents. Swissborg has a way of paying 28% but is also not available to US residents. And I just learned about Kukoin and their way of earning by lending with a possibility of earning hundreds of %. The cryptoverse is amazing and the opportunities seem unlimited.

A beginner question here. In Coinbase I can buy anything I want using dollar through my linked bank account. Maybe not as fast as using stable coin. So, is that the main advantage of a stablecoin? The transaction speed?

Why doesn't the fed just adopt USDC? It's there and it's already good to go for a full switch to crypto.
