We were in Russia in 1994 to visit family. The day after arriving I went to the American embassy to exchange my dollars for rubles. I gave the clerk $300 USD and got over 1 million rubles in return. That was the first, and last, time I was a millionaire. A year later the Russian government devalued the ruble taking 90% of each person's savings. I think they could do it again.
