Dos Equis Releases First Spot of the New Most Interesting Man

This guy looks like the butler for Jonathan Goldsmith.

I think this actor is too young. You don’t believe him having the kind of wisdom and experience that the original actor portrayed

I think it needs an Amateur camera effect with amateur camera photography, to add a certain naturality, as if it was captured on the spot and not a movie

All the slick, modern actions scenes will never beat the variety from the older Most Interesting Man ads with Goldsmith. There are some where his beard is still very dark, implying decades worth of adventures we haven't heard about, with lots of those videos also looking really aged that sells the effect even more. And with Goldsmith's ads many of the clips show more grounded action that could actually happen in real life, while the newer ones are choreographed to the point of unbelivability (case in point, both Goldsmith and the new guy have a clip of them doing Kendo. Goldsmith's is 3 shots with what looks like realistic kendo moves and uniforms, while the new one has 12 shots and is much busier with rain splashing and both of them wearing samurai armor and a random stereotypical old asian mentor and a butterfly?) There's a reason the entire ad campaign was ended a year or two after Goldsmith left.

Also, I get the sentiment of showing equality that a woman can have the same adventures as a man, but this is an ad campaign with very limited time to communicate your idea and sell a product! This is the World's Most Interesting MAN ad campaign, it just waters down the whole sentiment, and the chick that's there is just a generic hot lady with nothing distinguishing or 'interesting' about her. It would have been cool if we'd gotten a Most Interesting Woman campaign in the same vein as Goldsmith's, with her being older and showing clips of her adventures through the decades (some maybe even with Goldsmith featured too) and maybe her hanging out in the same bar as he is during the ad, BUT what makes the original series of ads striking is that there's no fat and extra stuff added on. Goldsmith is the only through line with no other reoccurring characters, and that's what makes him so memorable.

... I did not know I had this many feelings about an ad campaign from the mid-'00s.

He broke the rule never start or finish in spanish unless the whole conversation is going to be in spanish!

This guy is a fake and they were stupid to replace Goldsmith. This guy seems too easily excitable, that's no interesting man just a pretender. Plus, his voice doesn't give me the reassurance as Goldsmith's voice of experience.
