Is that the vacuum advance
ОтветитьI was hoping this was my problem also but nope now im back to thinking its the carb. thanks for the good info though I liked and subscribed.
ОтветитьBefore I finish watching gotta say one thing I love the color of your car you should do a walk around on it
ОтветитьCan u make a video on the vacuum lines that are important
ОтветитьJust came across your video, I have a 1980 Cadillac Coupe Deville.
Starts right up and is all good, when I stop at my buildings turn out and go to pull out however engine just shuts off when I press the accelerator. I can start it right back up and it's fine and then goes on its way no issues... Lucky I'm not far enough out so I'm not in a lane or I'd be smoked.
Any advice? Or thoughts?
I’m in Tennessee too and same problem
ОтветитьThat’s helps me . I am going to check that on my truck . Just might be my problem!
ОтветитьYour white smoke could be running to rich of gas or thin oil ( most of the time)
ОтветитьThe pick up coil inside the dizzy will cause the car to stumble when accelerating
ОтветитьThanks man!
ОтветитьI'm in decherd! Small world
ОтветитьGoddamn I didn't have that much trouble growing up.
ОтветитьIt could be a clogged egr valve. Had the same problems but even worse my whole car would shut off but once i replaced it haven’t had a problem since.
ОтветитьYou gotta disconnect the battery first?
ОтветитьPreciate ya ..fixed my problem
Ответить1 have an 1982 GMC VAndura . Bogs down when put under load, usually when shifting into third. Thought it was fuel delivery issue, changed filters and blew out the line, thought it was the vac advance, replaced that and also th transmission vacuum modulator, tried this trick of yours as well, to no avail. Then i thought it was something in the carb, disassembled and rebuilt it, same issue. then i tried a completely different carb... same issue. now im left to think that maybe the timing chain was stretched and jumped a tooth. however at idle it runs smooth and has good power off the hop. im so frustrated,
Im also beginning to think that maybe its because of this old timer mechanic who convinced me to rip out some vacuum lines to bypass the emissions and EGR stuff. maybe he screwed me!
If you are having a white smoke problem, change your oil and put around a half quart of Lucas treatment in with the fresh oil you put back in it, run it a while, and change it again with Lucas.
Lucas is very thick, and it makes a film over anything it gets on. It will get in the valve seals material composition and help them seal and stay lubricated and extent their life in general.
Also, if you have a smoker that's been sitting for a few years, Lucas will bring her around and stop smoking if it's not too late.
I hope this helps anyone who reads.
I need help boss!!!
ОтветитьCheckin in ya still got it homie mf nice
ОтветитьThank you brother
ОтветитьYou know what the idle supposed to be on a 305? Mine seems way too fast. Can't seem to reach the bottom of the carb either with all the damn hoses and lines.
Ответить83 monte carlo hard start up, bogs down when I accelerate first couple minutes then runs fine. Changed carburetor and fuel pump don't know what the hell it is
ОтветитьThank you something so simple !!
ОтветитьGood tip‼️

ОтветитьI have a 1983 Grand Prix but my transmission went out. Do you think it’s best to get another one or get it rebuilt
ОтветитьMy 81 Grand Prix LJ is the same color, Teal green with a 4.3 motor,
ОтветитьThis really helped I don't know why I didn't think of it I had to replace the coil recently so yeah
ОтветитьHey dad❤
ОтветитьTo anyone wondering, that is an HEI distributor. The part he takes off is a cover to the coil, the part of the distributor that delivers spark to the wires.
