To me, one of the most distinctive tastes of Coca Cola is the phosphoric acid. It separates it from most other sodas (besides cheerwine which tastes remarkably similar because it too contains phosphoric acid)

Great method. I personally don't use the essential oil method. I just dump the fresh 7x ingredients into the caramel + water, simmer for 20 min and strain with cheese cloth. I like to add some freshly grated ginger too for a bit of a bite and a tiny drop of vanilla essence. Works like a charm !

I have a bar in Portugal, Castro Marim. I select "natural" and local products. We have a local beer, local alcool from arbustus... very strong, and I dont want bottles and cans of sprite and colas. I want to make my own cola and have a good filter for the municipal water and a machine that make soda from it. It save storage space, large quantities of bottles and cans and I dont pay this enormous multinational that gives nothing special beverage that all can do at home. But I am not against CocaCola, just I think its nothing special and anyone can do similares sodas. Thanks for your tries, I will inform you later on my essays.
