One of my favourite coasters from my time in Orlando. (2007) I’m sure there are better, but just got great memories from riding this and then going straight back to the queue to ride again.

Kraken has always given me horrible rides, maybe i just keep catching it on a bad day.

So many parks jumped on VR and I dunno why as people do not leave the house to use VR, it was meant to be so you could go somewhere else from inside your house..... Although it turned out no one even wanted that as VR is crap and now it is dead.

I mean was SeaWorld ever really educational

I love the Kraken. I will always remember getting in the park really early and there was no queue so I went on it 4 times in a row. Good times

I’m a bit 50/50 on headsets on coasters, personally I’m not a fan because rollercoasters are about the air thrill and the inversions, like I love how they mix up the coasters but it doesn’t work with all

At least it’s not as bad as Six Flags.

Whoever thought adding VR - a medium which nauseates a person through dissociating then from reality - would be a good combination with a roller coaster which nauseates a person through its sheer number of inversions is beyond me. Never rode the VR version myself, but I couldn’t imagine it produced anything other then a headache for it’s riders.

Just like Disney's immersive Star Wars hotel experience, it's a cool idea in theory...

I just went on Kraken as well as all of SeaWorld Orlando's coasters (except for Ice Breaker) last month. Kraken is still their best coaster.

I work at SWO now as a camp counselor and its funny how VR kraken had wait times upwards of 6 hours that you'd have to join a virtual queue for but now any time I really want to ride a coaster I can go and hop on kraken after work and only wait 5 minutes for it because it's so jerky.

VR will only work on something that doesn't move as much as a coaster. VR headsets in general take awhile to get fitted for your specific head size and pupil distance. Now try to keep the thing on during a 60+ mph coaster while maintaining a clear image. Whoever thought this was a good idea should probably be fired.

The VR idea was cool but I remember hating it. You couldn't tell what was going to happen ride wise and ultimately I just felt sick after.

Why did they get rid of the dualling dragons at Universal?

I rode this a few years back. It was weird how they advertised it as a vr experience and then made you pay for the vr part. There was maybe like two people in an entire full car who actually did the vr thing. Dont think i could have ridden it if i couldn't see the track tho.

I really want to have see this, this sounds amazing. I am so sad that its gone. this is such amazing idea, I think only over time it could have gotten better with tech advancements

With your accent I thought there was now a "flawless" roller coaster. I thought, that's nice that they can make a 100% perfect roller coaster now. Impressive quality control! Later in the video I discovered what was actually removed was the kind of flaw you stand on!

I've never been on a VR coaster. The undersea adventure animation looks colorful, fun and exciting. But it must have been very disorienting and uncomfortable to not know when the turns and loops were coming. I wonder if it would have worked if the animation had some kind of elements that always showed something to represent the upcoming track path.

I went to SeaWorld once, and one of the only things I remember there was riding Kraken first thing in the day. Genuinely one of the best coasters around--probably the best in Orlando.

Yo the new ghost train at thorpe is actually rlly good. Thank god they’ve finally made it into a good experience

I remember getting something like 10 back to back rides on Kraken one trip. Fun coaster, but it was no Kumba, or Montu.

It was an odd choice to start VR tech so early in its craft. I know people are really into it, but the hardware is limited even today. So deciding to try to implement in in the mid 2010’s was going to be hard.

My family went to sea world in 2018, and I remember this ride sucked because it had all this story based audio clearly for the VR, but no VR lol

Honestly I liked how they wanted to go into theming stuff, it’s just a shame their attempt was with a roller coaster using experimental vr of all things.

I can't wait until Sea World goes under. Replace it with a proper sea life rehab center and ditch the performing animals. Those poor orcas.

They made a kraken ride and didn't look into the mythology of the Kraken

Unfortunately for Kraken, Hulk is a better ride. I recently rode both in one day. Its just better. Sure, some of it might be that hulk is smoother due to the retrzck it got a few years back... But i think the layout of hulk is just better. Kraken to me was just a coaster, lots of big inversions, all jumbled together. Hulk is an experience. With the que and music, but also with just the layout of the coaster

That's a shame that it didn't work out. I'm not a big fan of roller coasters (call me chicken) but the VR element was actually something that could get me on a roller coaster.
