Hippos are rather cantankerous.
My ex had a similar temperament.

I got a dog that looks just like these creatures. Acts like them too. I love Boodha, but he wants to fight everything that he is not used to.

The only time they would really interact is when the rhinos go for a drink or maybe in the dry season when hippos have to look for new water sources. They are not a threat to each other and do not really compete for resources. So most of the time I’d say a fight would be avoided. Maybe just bluff charges by the rhino and a mouth threat display by the hippo. Pretty much what happened in this video.
