Since LG has so much quality issues, would not buy it again. On my CX9 both motherboard and panel went out as heavy TV user, in just 3 yrs. Gave chance to Samsung now with S95D.

I like this channel and this lovely lady. She speaks our language so to speak. However what should I go for a 77inch the S95D or the G3?

I have had this tv for 14 days, it is stunning and all the money worth for me. I got a 25% discount.

Many complain about its anti glare, but for me that mostly work doing the evenings, it handle light amazingly. It’s a 10/10 for me, as I don’t see myself in the background and I get the deep blacks without light and reflections interrupting the picture.

Please note, that the tv does need some calibration across all its picture modes. But using Samsung smart calibration and playing around with the settings and mostly disabling the enhance modes. It is an amazing and stunning tv to game and watch movies on. It does everything better than my old Phillips oled, that made everything have a yellow tint while gaming. So again for me personally it’s a 10/10

I think this tv doesn't support lossless dolby audia ie dolby true hd. I have s95c and can confirm that it doesn't support. And to get true hd or dts ma audio i need to stream it from pc directly plugging into a avr. People talk about Dolby vision unavailability is tge biggest miss but as per me lossless audio is the biggest miss considering their own soundbar supporta all sorts of Audio formats

In my small office room I want to buy a 55 inch tv to watch netflix, game, and sports but not sure of the options between the s95d or the s90d. I seen that the s95d is much brighter from what I have seen of both next to each other which is what I really want. My office room is dark and no light gets in so matte should not bother me at all but I always loved the glossy screen. Just that when I see both tvs at best buy next to each other I am drawn more to the 95d. But right now the 90d is about 1100 cheaper

I just upgraded from the S90C to the S95D.

There is a major difference in color vibrancy and brightness, and i can now game with lots of lighting while still getting deep blacks. I couldnt game on the S90C with the lights on.

Hi ! I own a QE77S95DAT now, and I have to say, that there are not any issues with the matte screen nor the thermal overheating as well !!! The OneConnect Box is really great.. So it is worth tó change from an earlier Sony to this masterpiece at all...!!!!

Abby,
HDTV Test, just posted a review of the S95D.
They reported a peak brightness at a 10% window of over 1740 NITS. Crucially they did not discuss address or mention excessive heat or thermal throttling. Are you or your team aware if this issue has been addressed via a firmware update perhaps?

Abby you're so good at reviews, keep it up. This is the best 4k TV on the market and matte coatings are better since glossy defined reflections will always be more noticeble even if they are very dim.

Samsung dropped ATSC 3.0. Still wont support Dolby Vision. No DTS audio codecs. The one connect box is limited to 40gbps not 48. But is that a big deal?

Hi. I have been using your provided information long time and been greatly thankful. I love the work you do. But i have a question what i have been wondering for while... How much does light sources cause OLED TV´s and monitors lose in contrast. I have heard that even from different sources that its something what OLED´s do and your said same thing with matte coating part. More precise reflections part of review. Where samsung coating eats away contrast for removing some reflections. Is this purely coating part of issue or does all tv´s/monitors suffer this in some aspects. Like i write clear questions in line.

Do all TV´s or monitors tech like OLED, QLED, LCD lose contrast from light sources?
Do Light sources all tech equally or its more harmful other tech´s or coatings like Matte vs glossy or LCD vs OLED etc.
How much does TV or PC monitor lose contrast from light sources hitting screen?
Can this be measured or even speculated scientifically?
Final question is this. If all this is true or be doable. Should this be one form of measurement you do in reviews.

Again. I love the work you do. Hope you could understand what i wrote.... English language is not my native language...

I kind of wish they made a 98” model for home theater use as no other company is making a current gen OLED TV that big rn, but it’d probably be like $20K

Never Samsung.

Samsung rely on a semi/non-functional colour management system that leaves colour errors relatively (and visibly) higher than the competition.

Plus, no DV. Nearly every streaming service offers content in DV and while most people wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between DV and HDR10+, most people can tell the difference between DV and HDR10

I really love this TV. For me the main reason I considered it was the anit glare matte screen. It works amazingly well. Our tv was almost impossible to use during daylight hours and we had a lot of glare from lights in the evening as well. No problems at all daytime watching and we basically have all windows opposite the tv. We had recently taken down all of our blinds during a window and sliding door replacement and we decided not to put the blinds back up because the room looked so much better without them. When we had the blinds down during the day it helped but without them like I said nearly impossible to watch enjoyably. No issue at all though now with the new tv. From others comments it sounds like they might be missing the mark on some expected features but none of those things were important to me. The display looks amazing and the anti glare works way beyond what I expected I was hoping for a decrease but honestly it is 95% gone in my viewing environment.

Which one has better local dimming and less blooming?

Have the s95d at home, and the quality is really excellent. The matte looks also extremely professional, and causes no problems during day or night. Dolby vision support is not needed since this tv is already very bright with true hdr. Nobody will know and see any difference. So is it better then the g4....yes in many ways. And no problems at all with overheating, no problems at all with the one connect box

Have been using s95d for one month. Rtings is right, direct huge lights will raise blacks. But in 99% of use cases matte is far superior for viewing in the daytime. Unless you have a window right in front of the tv, matte looks better, because there are no visible reflections and artifacts. My TV is exceptional in the day and at night.

Glossy is better if u have dim lights or blinds. IMHO people should buy s90d if they want to watch in dim light. For day+night s95d is better, due to the anti-glare finish.

In daytime setting, during dim scenes, I could see myself on my previous TV along with the visuals. No such problems here.

I have S95C and I must say it is more than bright enough. I love the gimmick that it does in an attempt to blind me when I turn it on and off, it's insane to get this brightness from an OLED. The sound also isnt that bad. But out of the box picture settings are complete garbage which is completely unacceptable.
