Its like eating soup with a fork.
ОтветитьHow does the suppler know or detect that a building has a poor power factor so that they can apply a surcharge?
ОтветитьPerfect
ОтветитьΗello everyone and a huge THANKS to PAUL. I would like to ask if there are videos more detailed about how we connect capacitors to a transformer or a group of motors in order to have a perfect PF
ОтветитьDoes the last example have a real world possibility? Is it practical to put that large of a capacitor on a building with that large of a power draw?
Ответитьplease i need background music from this video :O
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьGood shared
ОтветитьAlthough I get it…I never liked the ‘beer analogy’.
A better analogy (for me anyway) is guy pulling a train car with a rope at an angle.
The closer to pf = unity, the closer the guy gets to pulling the train car straight on.
But, that’s just me.
Otherwise, excellent video.
It is the first time someone makes electricity easy to understand for me. Thank you!
ОтветитьPower factor penalty works also the other way ie overcompensated network, which the power companie can tolerate to a certain degree. They in turn will have to use compensation ie inductive loads. This has alot to do with underground cables which is inherently capacitive loads not regarding the load connected.
ОтветитьPlease explain about PF = -1 , voltage with current different 180°.
ОтветитьA kVAr-capacitor? I'm into electronics and in our world, we measure capacitance by the Farad or fractions of Farads. What's the conversion factor?
ОтветитьAwesome! I’ll be sure to use the beer analogy next time I have to explain PFC to anyone! Bloody brilliant idea especially when at the pub and wanna sound clever! Cheers from Australia mate and keep up the great vids 😊👍🍺
ОтветитьHow if I make a series of capacitor
ОтветитьI don't get, (in the beer analogy) if the apparent power is the combination of the foam and the beer, how come the apparent power increases when there's more foam? it will always be 1 glass of beer right so the apparent power is the same? please anyone correct me if i'm wrong
ОтветитьYou did not explain “what is power factor?” You explained it’s Martha and graphs etc. Actually what is it? Who is it generated in electrical power generation?
ОтветитьHindi Virsion Needed.... Please Make It....!!!
ОтветитьBrilliant explanation!
Ответитьthank you
ОтветитьQuestion from a dummy (me): could the power factor be called "electrical efficiency" or just "efficiency"? As in like a 100w light buld, could be 90% efficient giving off 90% light and 10% heat...... would that be a power factor of 0.9?
ОтветитьExcellent work 👍👍👍👍👍 From Pakistan
ОтветитьGreat illustrations! Love the beer analogy! ❤😊
ОтветитьIn the example of the induction motor comparison, could you power those motors with a 10KVA solar panel and a converter that outputs the amount of apparent power needed for the motor?
ОтветитьIs the 25.5kVAR capacitor going to be a 3 phase type? Why is it kVAR units and not in uF's?
ОтветитьI understood everything including the math this video is not for entry level ppl hahaha…
got to already know something about electrical to understand this. I can imagine that for most who don’t know this would need more pictures in the video lol… thanks for the video
Sir I have one Request,You have already Started you tube in All language Please also Start Tamil Language, why because it would be helpful for who Doesn't Know English
ОтветитьExcellent & thank you!
ОтветитьNice videos.. where would you put a capacitor to correct? On each load line and how would you determine the capacitor value?
ОтветитьInformative
ОтветитьThank you, excelent description
ОтветитьHi sir i am always having trouble in understanding relays and ACB and VCB. Please make a video
ОтветитьRestarts video 3 times, I'm just a program manager 😂😂
ОтветитьAm definitely getting wasted tonight 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
Ответитьyour video are satisfying
ОтветитьThanks Sir ❤
ОтветитьI believe you skipped a step. Capacitors are not rated in kVAr, but in Farad. I know there's a forrmula for calculating it, but it escapes me at the moment. Anyways, quite a decent topping-up of one's electro-physics :)
ОтветитьSupposed I have 75 kw motor which size of capacitor should I use
ОтветитьWhat are some of the examples of capacitive loads?
ОтветитьA prof of mine used to remark about the beer analogy that it's actually wrong. He had an edited version of the correct represenation then on the beamer to our amusement, which was based on stretching the image of the beer into the shape of a triangle (sans the hypotenuse), because apparent power is the sum of the sqares of true and reactive power. Gotta admit that image has stuck with me and is my frist thought whenever seeing it done wrong. ;)
ОтветитьHello Paul,
I spent 8 hours today trying to learn Power Factor from my course notes and text book. Became really highly frustrated because nothing made any sense.
Then I watched and studied your videos. I first went through Resistance, Capacitors, Inductors and Induction Motors and then I did your entire Power Factor Video including all calcs.
I starting with your videos at 22.00 on Monday night. Its now 03.34 on Tuesday morning and I can now say that I have mastered Power Factor.
WITH ALL MY HEART, THANK YOU PAUL. YOU ARE MY SUPER-HERO.
Your Videos are super fantastic. Please keep up the Excellent work!
Regards,
Rajan.

So why do industries have lower power factors.?
Is it because they have a high number of inductive loads.?
It is a very good explanation but i have to say i like the foam in beer and would like to take a sip of it before going to the true part
ОтветитьGood example of beer glass it's amazing!!!
ОтветитьI'm very thankful on how well you explain the concept as now even though I'm currently struggling in my circuits course, I'm able to realize and connect different concepts in an ac circuit especially about this power factor. Kudos to you and look forward to watching more of your videos.
Ответитьi do not understand which teacher in school or Uni put background music to teach their class. its annyoing while you are trying to understand
