Why Life??? My bet??? Its the only game in town. Kinda like consciousness😊
Anything but God...😮
Nevertheless I enjoyed seeing the every which way.
panspermia boys~
With as smart as these guys are, and the deeper they try to go, it seems to me the bigger the hole of un-knowledge becomes.
We know virtually nothing.
Good try though guys. Kudos for the effort.
Don't eat the toast at Lex's house.
Fascinating interview. Truly enjoyed it. But my main overriding question is that if your theory of how life began was get a bunch of elements together and then add a spark to it and life is created, but you cannot duplicate that in a lab how realistic is your hypothesis??
Ответитьwe can laugh but I have a suspicion her goal is to run for president some day and americans are dumb enough they might just elect her
Shave his eye lashed and hair off and you’d be podcasting Joe Rogan 😂
Lex looks defeated, drained, bored and unexcited . I bet he’s fun at parties. Lex might be the most advanced “Artificial Person” for all I know
I don’t remember biology is this interesting when I was in school. I am sure my kids don’t find it interesting neither. What is going on with our educational system that makes science so uninteresting while you are in school? What can be done to fix that?
As for AI on playing chess and being seemingly sentient?, its definitely just cold calculation and no true sacrifice as with humanity 🙏
Ответитьeveryone asking a question after he said he’s not answering questions should be fired on the first day of office and never allowed back.. no room for idiots anymore
Whew.. things are gonna slide, slide in all directions.. L Cohen.
The Jewish people and Israel are proof of God.
Abiogenesis is impossible, which points to the only explanation for life as an intelligent designer. The fact that no actual evidence supports common descent, leaves us with the inescapable conclusion that human life and all life was created and did not evolve. MT was right about you people being educated fools.
I dont mind the brows. Are all scientists that sexy☺
The toaster thing keeps cracking me up, In an Astrology book by Linda Goodman she wrote that an Aries woman uses her men like a toaster, "She plugs them in uses them up and tossed them aside."
Dog 100% of emotions and seek to learn more about Dolphins 🐬
Ok Nancy
One thing what's not leaving my mind - We created computer and now we get to the point where we have created AI.. Computers are built from different components to run properly.. We are moving forward in tech and 40 years ago couldn't even imagine today's life... What if AI created humans and we are close to finish a cycle of humanity? Sounds stupid, but still can't stop thinking about... We are bringing back to life our ancestors 😮
Ответитьthis guy has a very good imagination!! Man cannot even prove water is made of hydrogen and oxygen let alone prove his origins!!
This episode is great to sleep through 😂
Lex.. Nick... Biology .. Exceptional Evolution in Fabulous Forms. 😊😊😊 Huge Appreciation and Earth Blessings 🕊️🌻🐝🌳💚🍀✨
There will never be A conflict between AI and humans only humans using AI against humans using AI
DNA is technology. And I realize that is kicking the can down the road.
My brain is overloaded now.
I woke up to one of my favorite subjects. I'm going to need to rewind to hear the rest of this interview.
I normally tune into hear political subjects (historical political movements as well as current subjects), current military postures, as well as previous campaigns, etc. I even listened for a few minutes to that ex-Fox News idiot whose name is not worth mentioning.
That's the long way of saying I enjoy the variety of the programming.
Unfortunately, yesterday was one of my very low rest days, less than three hours the night before, after an entire week of less than five hours per night. I dozed off.
This is one is on a favorite subject. I'll rewind.
Thank you for your programming content.

This auto played while I slept, and I can confirm.
Thick school teachers boring libraries full on of fiction. Cartoon stupidity on TV and media , these keep humans dumb and ignorant
I found this show really interesting! . discussion why Neanderthals went extinct, and it turns out there were many reasons behind it. One of the main factors was that they were limited in their capacity for evolution. Neanderthals were on Earth for as long as Homo sapiens have been now, but they disappeared just as they seemed to reach their peak.
If you think about how humans fight often violently it might explain why we’ve created so many wars and developed advanced weapons as a means of survival. Neanderthals, on the other hand, were also violent but in a different way. However, they lived in a relatively stable environment with less drastic weather changes and were fewer in population. When the climate began to change and Homo sapiens appeared in Europe, Neanderthals couldn’t adapt to the harsher conditions and the competition for resources with a more clever species like us.
It’s possible that Neanderthals made a clever move by passing on their genes through interbreeding or perhaps it was Homo sapiens who forced the mating to acquire some of their physical and personal traits to better survive the tough climate. Either way, the genetic merging between Homo sapiens and Neanderthals about 5,000 years after they met was a crucial step in shaping who we are today.
peace from lebanon ✋❤...
Thumbs up if you believe in Jesus
Nice first hour of the podcast. Became boring afterwards. Lex moved from prebiotic biology to many subjects outside Nick Lane’s area of expertise: aka AI and (I supposed) some of Lex’s political / sociological worldviews. Please do not use biology, evolution and nature to « justify » any of your prefered social constructions, as Hitler and Staline did before you. Nick did a good job stating what is outside his research area though.
It is possible that Neanderthals disappeared, to the extent they disappeared, because they were less violent. Since Sapiens came out of Africa with more of an “r” survival strategy they were certainly more aggressive than Sapiens of today. I would suspect they were as aggressive as the”r”strategist of today’s Africans, only more so. They would certainly have had less empathy. The last Neanderthal was probably a cline.
So basically he has no clue how life started
All assumption, The best science guys accept the miracle of creation and the science they love. You can accept both ❤
