So glad I grew up a good old fashion, garden variety, lukewarm Lutheran back in the 50's and 60's and not a modern day, over the top Christian fundamentalist.
As a young boy, I only remember good seeds planted in my brain, not seeds of condemnation like evangelicals do to children. There is no such thing as saved and unsaved souls. The doctrine is fear and hate filled humanistic gibberish. They made it up.

JAMES 2 Is not talking about eternal Life but phisical Life... Can Faith save him? If a Brother Is without clothes and food, can Faith save him? No, you have to give him food and clothes. If you are believing work salvation than you are believing in a book that contradicts himself. Because It clearly states in ephesians 2:9 that It Is not by works, least anyone should boast.
Does the bibles contradicts? Absolutely no.
Does human reasoning contradicts? Absolutely yes.
We are saved by FAITH ALONE this Is what the gospel Is about. Paul the apostle taught salvation by only Faith ALONE.
After we are saved we proceed in santification and good works, but only After we are saved.
Repent and believe the gospel.
After you are saved, you can do Catholic Mass because the love of Christ. But do not think that gives you salvation, nor anything else

Protestant doctrine is unbiblical mainly because it didn't throw out all of the Catholic heresy it started with, and really go 100% Bible.

If you're trusting in your own works to save, that is a scary place to be. Good works are evidence of salvation, they are not how we are saved. The work Jesus accomplished on the cross was final. All we do is build on what Christ started as faithful followers. Stop confusing the righteousness we have in Christ which is how we are justified and the call to live holy in light of a now being justified. If you think on judgement day, that your works have anything to do with where you will be spending eternity you are sadly mistaken. The only thing guaranteed is that apart from Christ we are lost. Please stop believing this lie from the enemy. Thinking your works contribute to salvation takes the glory from God and puts you at the center. Faith in Christ means that we believe not only in his death burial and resurrection but also in his sinless life. That he was perfect and all his works good not mixed with sin. We believe that through him we have life. Through faith and that we are “justified by faith alone”.
So we know the Bible isn’t going to contradict itself so what about James faith without works is dead?
This is to say of what profit is faith without practice. We are saved from the ramifications of sin….why would we keep this to ourselves…so in all things we should be a model of Christ not focusing on our good but His good everything we do point back to him.

Protestant doctrine is Biblical as it is the continuation of the true church.
What the Catholic church has done is create doctrines from scriptures taken out of context and from writings of people far removed from the apostles to create a book called the catechism that is put over The Holy Bible.

Faith is NOT believing God exists or that the gospel is true. As a man is called to be faithful to his wife, in the same way we are called to be faithful to God. Faith is an action, not a belief. Faith means to put Christ as the only center of our lives, and live in accordance with his will. It also means to trust the Holy Spirit with our lives. Faith is not separate from works, it is works.

Who's right! Both prob have some error! We have the word and we have the spirit of truth if we are a believer! We are to let the spirit teach us truth ! I love listening to Catholics trying to explain scripture. First you have the traditional Catholic talking points, saying nobody has taught faith without work for 1500 years. How about the apostle Paul taught we are saved by grace through faith. Talk about taking verses out of context. Romans 2:6 is NOT saying you are saved by work. The context is Paul is speaking to the hypocrite in verse 1. The key verse is verse 7 "To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:" IF, IF you by patient continuance keep the law perfectly from birth to death, then yes you will inherit eternal life. Nobody has done that except the Lord Jesus Christ. So for this guy to say that Paul is saying that you inherit eternal life by your deeds, he does not know how to read scripture.

Faith alone was In fact taught by many church fathers throughout church history. Repentance and faith are tue means to salvation, and you can’t repent without faith, and you can’t have faith without repentance. Look at tue thief on the cross

Paul is being misrepresented hear .In Romans he goes painfully through the law to show that ultimately we are unable to earn salvation and that the law is there to show that we are accountable to god but the law is there to convict us of sin and see the need for a saviour .Salvation is a gift from God by grace through faith ( for good works ) not to earn as grace is not grace if you have to earn it That is not saying we should not do good works rather our good works are out of love for god in response to his love and grace .Faith without works is a criticism of my position and that is because if you are saved your heart will want to please god and do good works but you are not earning salvation .In revelation there are 2Judgements .The white thrown Judgement deciding heaven or hell based on you accepting Jesus as lord repenting of sins and having your name in lambs book of life .2nd the Judgement seat of Christ for those in heaven only to purify you and give BLESSINGS not salvation to you for good works as Jesus decides in each case .

Paul, the first protestant, teaches by faith alone. Granted, he didn't actually say "faith alone" but his teaching clearly shows your salvation is by faith, not by works so that no man should boast. The good deeds will be the result of the indwelling Holy Spirit by which the believer is a bearer of the fruits of the Spirit.

Question: You claim faith isn’t by faith alone. How in the world did the man on the cross make it to heaven when he obviously didn’t do a single “good work”? He was saved by his faith in Jesus Christ. Also you sound like the Pharisees when you claim that you must do these works to be saved. Jesus would preach that the tax collectors and prostitutes would be saved.

Be careful who you judge. The foundation of all morality is the Ten Commandments and the love of God's law. How many idols do you have that come before God? Do you obey God's Ten Commandments? Ever since a child I always felt comfortable and at home in my grandmothers Catholic Church. I’ve been to so many other churches in my youth not by choice but my mother was confused and wanted to be involved in non denominational as well as my step family being baptist, I do not for one second feel at peace or at home in any of those places. It feels as if we are worshiping the pastors and other people involved at the church, they have wild outlandish ceremonies that don’t feel real it feels fake. Going to church you feel something actually special, something real, the priest have a authority, love and compassion that’s not comparable with a pastor.

The fact that he brings up Galatians to make his point is stunning. The epistle to Galatians was written because the church in Galatia was teaching faith in Christ plus keeping the circumcision, and Paul starts out this epistle by telling them anyone teaching a gospel of faith plus works is to be “anathema”, eternally separated from God. James chapter 2 is in no way talking about works for salvation, and he should know that. James is talking about what kind of faith saves. If you have living faith, you are no longer dead spiritually, but alive. Works are a natural byproduct of living faith, and this position has been held for 2000 years, contrary to his statement that it was never taught. Truly despicable, I can’t believe catholic answers put this video out.

I find that so many Protestants are ignorant of church history and look only to the Bible, ignoring that it was the Catholic Church that put the Bible together hundreds of years into its existence.
