ОтветитьThis is a wise, clever, people-friendly explanation of the philosophy of Identity. What we need is a useful procedure for taking stock of one's identity; a way for relating that to self-esteem; a metric for self-assessing one's self esteem; and a procedure for strategically planning how to build on identity strengths, heal identity wounds and fill the lacunae; then a method to transform identity and self esteem needs into new strengths. That whole process needs to be behaviorally specific and replicable... I believe that's what we need next. -Doug Pratt, Atlanta, Georgia, USA
Ответить"I don't know, therefore I'm not"
Ответитьthe soul remains the same, the essence of the ship remains the same. regardless of the body that came within.
ОтветитьYou are none of them. Because whatever you consider yourself as you which are always in time and space, and which is changeable.. Your are not something which is always changing. You are the ultimate truth which is the pure consciousness. Or BRAHMAN. ❤ which never change and the ultimate ground and reality of everything where everything is being playing on its own nature. 🕉 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

People are not the same things as ships. The material of the ship changes with time and replacement and with its degree of its quality, but the nature of the person is consistent with what it was before, even if that quality was being concealed (at first, which is often the case with youth), and the person behaves differently as he/she gains experience and a greater amount of trust in society and in him/herself.

ОтветитьThis is my thought long ago, our cells, thoughts everything changes, So which one is real.
Another if we bring plank time concept then, every plank time there is one me exist, so there maybe uncountable of me exist but which one is me actually?
If we say its consciousness, how can you assure that your previous consciousness has deleted and present one is new but because of your previous memory is same you can't recognize it.
Someone may argue that, Okay then the memory, But if I place it into same functional brain or hardware like brain(hypothetically) then we and the artificial one will feel they both are me. So memory also isn't Thats why I think. The "I" Me are just Illusion like. Or Concept which made up by our normal days thinking. (Like, people don't usually know time is relative, from an ordinary perspective its unrealistic. But in real its true, which we had to figure it out.)
WHO AM I???
TED NARRATOR:.....or you can just answer I am a legendary hero sailing a powerful ship on an epic journey
ME: Okayyyy....or I could just say my name and my profession, thank you very much😅
Its the ship Theseus owned...
B would probbably the second ship of theseus if he ever owned more than one.
If some one were to buy it or make one for themselves it wouldn't be the "ship of Theseus" anymore would it now
In practical life, the replacements for failed or worn out parts of the ship would be different thanks to improvements due to advancement of time+knowledge, and influence of innovators. I think it is not much different than what happens to a person during life. We collect knowledge, skills and experience, and we are influenced by external factors as we age.

ОтветитьThe answer is spiritual in nature. In order to understand what we are, we also need to understand what human consciousness itself is. This is impossible.
ОтветитьNot helpfull
ОтветитьJainism solves this philosophical paradox
ОтветитьGod has given us the free will, to decide who we want to be with the pieces God given us.
Our Identity is in Christ.
We became who we are not because of all the hurt and pain inflicted by hurt people.
But if we focus our identity in Christ Jesus, the old is gone and we can be new. We will know who we truly are. We are God's child.
I incline to that my mind is I. So I always wonder where my mind goes when I die 😑
ОтветитьWhere is the quote in the beginning 😢
ОтветитьWe are the universe seeing itself. Our body and everything outside make no difference, we have memory so we are aware of ourselves. This body is a little happy, a little sad, a little rich, a little poor and will eventually become dust, a part of the universe, for sure. The only meaning when you were born and exist in this life is to pass on and inherit that memory
ОтветитьWe are the universe, which is seeing itself
ОтветитьThe answer is simple.
There is no such thing as a ship in real life.
The idea of ship is only in the mind.
So brain of some people thinks it's X and it's X for them and for others it's Y.
The question "Who am I" is not meant to have an answer rather it is meant to dissolve the questioner (ego).
- Ramana Maharshi
Brilliant!!
ОтветитьMy take on this is that the concept of the ship exists individually of its naming it does not matter if parts are changed it is within the identity of the beholder of the information
ОтветитьHii could you tell me
What exactly
Who am i ?
Whether it says my current position or where i want to be?
it's hard to define what the person is when you take away the idea of the spirit. The person is the whole soul (the mind, heart, body, and spirit).
ОтветитьWell if that ending wasn’t just tailored for humans
ОтветитьI present the idea, that it is the same ship. It serves the same purpose as it did many years ago. It possesses the same idea, even though it’s not exactly the same thing, you can look at it and go, “yes, this is doing the same thing as the old ship.”
ОтветитьFound an answer of my own in January. Since I can't assume a soul exists (even if it did why would it be except from change?), since each and every body part like everything else in the world never remains the same (you can't step into the same river twice), that would mean that there is no persisting "I" or "me", and I'd argue that perception is nothing but an illusion. Of course, we don't know, me neither. But it's plausible that we die as we change and cells are replaced, and that the new biological machine just tells itself otherwise.
If there's something to take away from this, there are a lot of things we assume as a given; going "that's how it is, how could it be otherwise silly?", but questioning that status quo is when interesting stuff starts to happen
This can also be viewed in a positive light if preferred. Well, it's only my thoughts since two months back so we'll see how long I'll stick with it. Cheerio
I love philosofy, but damn sometieme they are just talking about bs.... Is that so important to answer this question with perfect answer?
Who am I? I am human with body and brain and need and I do think to survive.... Period. No bs paradox.
