I am somewhat suspectful of the so-called benefits of NAC. I was taking regularly yet I came down with severe asthma. The high eosophonol levels were the cause. I almost choked to death from an asthma attack. The various puffers I was given were not effective at all. I had to go one Prednisone to suppress the severe symptoms. If NAC is so great, shouldn't it at least prevented my asthma?

It's just a bit confusing that N-Acetyl Cysteine ​​is both a drug and two different chemical names, namely here in Sweden and the rest of Europe, the drug form is called acetylcysteine ​​alone, while the supplement variant is called NAC in short form. Most often, acetylcysteine ​​is given as effervescent tablets against mucus in e.g. chronic bronchitis. It's kind of funny that I can buy NAC without a prescription as a dietary supplement, but if doctors prescribe it for mucus in the acetylcysteine ​​form, I have to have a prescription! Then I mainly think that you in the US don't really know acetylcysteine ​​as a substance, but the correct thing is that the latter is the drug itself. It is extremely confusing for the uninitiated to understand this.

I wish I had known about this when I had covid. I probably would have gotten over it much quicker. I can attest to the fact that it cleared up asthma for me. I had asthma the last few years for some reason and never did before. Maybe because I once smoked cigarettes. What I want to know is is it safe to take every day? I've been taking it for 3 months now and honestly see an improvement in my skin and also I started getting a cold last week's sneezing runny nose and it cleared up within 3 days😮!
