Why Season 4 is Community's Absolute Worst

Chevy behaviour was the show's downfall, everyone else was tight... Then there aas Chevy being a giant asshole amd didn't even realise that Pierce was just himself through and through. His own behaviour influenced the character.

Season 4 is way better than Season 6 in my opinion. Missing some of the best characters was more damaging to the show than missing Dan Harmon

Season 4 feels like what would happen if internet fandom got to write a season.

Forced ships between characters with no chemistry? ✅️ Intertwining all the characters' backstories pointlessly? ✅️ Referencing every inside joke and fan-favorite episode in the least clever and most cringe way possible? ✅️✅️✅️ This is why fan theories, requests, and 99.99999% of all fanfics absolutely suck

I just skipped the puppet episode. But honestly I enjoyed the season.

Honestly that’s a good analysis of the season. It still has some of the magic but it’s largely hit or miss compared to the previous seasons. I think that managed to have a lot of good moments and even episodes, and it started off pretty strong too with the B plot of Abed’s sitcom version of the study group in his head. Alternate History of the German Invasion is one of my favorites, but the finale really blew it with the “all a dream.”

season 5 has two of the best community episodes period. can't compare it to season 4.

Season 6 is the worst, season 4 had it's moments like it is explain in the video.

Honestly, while I agree that season 4 was a real weak point, seasons 5 and 6 were genuinely pretty great in my opinion. Season 5 was refreshing as we got that classic Dan Harmon style of writing back, and despite the loss of core characters in the final seasons, I thought the show really did a lot with a little and managed to return to its more grounded roots as we gear up to say goodbye to the show, although... SIXSEASONSANDAMOVIE!!!!

The mistake was not handing the show over to people who had been in the writing room with Harmon. Andrew Guest and/or Megan Ganz should have been asked to run the show. Maybe they did and refused out of respect for him, but I feel like he would've given his blessing.

They should have ended the series after season 3. They could have left on a good note.

I liked the puppet episode actually, no as good as changnesia but good.

I honestly dont mind they tried to experiment and do what every other TV sitcom was doing repeatedly. I like risks. Not doing the same thing over and over is how we get better TV, like Seinfeld and Larry Sanders and Its Always Sunny. Repeated a tired, safe formula is how we get all that other crap.
Having said that, I watch sitcoms to laugh, cuz I need a break from my crappy life. And the first seasons of Community were genuinely funny which is what I needed. The later seasons did not make me laugh, but I'll admit they got me thinking.

The only time I didn't care for Community was when Jonathan Banks was in it. Glad they replaced him with Keith David.

I don't know about you guys but i actually watch series i like and enjoy. I notice the flaws and downs but i still enjoy because i watch to have fun and be entertained and not to criticize, that's this guy's job

I appreciate season 4 more than 5 & 6 just because it features the whole cast from start to finish

Never noticed a difference. I've watched all episodes of community twice . But never knew anything about the behind the scenes issues like change of producers so didn't notice a difference that season.

Season 4 is kind of embarrassing like it’s screaming “hey look I’m back! please love me again!” all the time, and it indeed gets hard to watch sometimes, but for me the final season is just a huge disappointment almost in its entirety, specially the last 2 or 3 episodes.

Community is and will always be one of my favorite shows of all time, and I think it’s just sad that it ended on such a bitter note.

Season five was the worst one for me.

The first episode of season 4 had such a decent premise but the animated Greendale babies segment didn't land at all. The puppet episode is a better means of transcending the sitcom medium in my opinion.

Its my favorite season. Ur all a bunch of sheep regurgitating the same talking points. Plus its the only season that doesn’t crap all over chevy chase.

Just skip season 4 and go straight into seasons 5 and 6.
First and second time watching the show through, I thought the second half, seasons 4, 5, and 6, we're just bad. Now that I skip season 4, it doesn't quite lose momentum in that same way and I can see that seasons 5 and 6 are actually really charming and funny. They're not the same as seasons one through three, but they are still very funny and watchable.

Season 4 had it's highlights. The German episode is in my top 10 community episodes

I can't hate season 4 after the disaster that was season 6. It was a lot worse than 4.

I was prepared to hate it, but was pleasantly surprised at some episodes.

For me, post season 3 I tend to skip most episodes. Almost all season 4, half season 5 and most 6. Doesn't feel like community.

Nothing is as awful as the GI Joe episode and no one can convince me otherwise

I don't think it was nearly as bad as people act like it is. There were a few quite boring episodes, but I still think it holds up overall

Community is the best 2 seasons of TV comedy I've ever watched. Im so happy they never made more than 2 seasons.

As a person who did not know about Dan not running season 4, I honestly did not realise it. I liked season 4 and some of them are amongst the best ever. Especially the body swap episode.

There were a ton of one liners and good memes from the season. It's not my favorite but its got some stuff here and there

I would say that Season 4 was worse than the 3 that preceded it, but better than 5 or 6 where they had to invent reasons for them to still be at Greendale and cast members were leaving. As much as Chevy Chase may be an ass in real life, he was great on the show. Also Jonathon Banks was great on Better Call Saul, but so so as a professor. Elroy and Frankie really didn’t add much in season 6.

You cannot convince me that yahoo screen actually existed and was not just people imagining it because of a gas leak

Maybe I am just easy to please but I ran through the whole series and never noticed a change. I wnjoyed the show beginning to end.

i read an article saying all this and i had no idea so i had to go look at the episode/season list and ive got to say, there are good episodes but it has the only episode i refuse to watch, the puppet episode, so it must mean something in the overall picture that yes..that season is bad and almost directly due to not having harmon
