Hey how to assure you fall into best qualify vs. tentatively quality . Because I keep getting tentative quality?

I have a bachelors in Criminal justice. I graduated cum laude. I got my masters in justice administration May 2023. I have to honestly say these are the most useless degrees I could've possibly went after. I got into the honor society for cynical justice as well. I'm currently in my second semester clinical mental health counseling and I wish someone had been more honest with me so I wouldn't have wasted all my time and money on all the useless degrees I now have. When i finish my counseling/ therapy degree I can get a job making anywhere from $100,000-$200,000 my first year.

Do you know who does federal resume

Any advice for 1 that's working as a NS employee but wants to switch to an entry level GS position?

Would a job with TSA be worth getting to get my foot in the door with the federal govt?

Would it be innapropriate to email the hr manager about my interest in the job after I apply?

Being "referred to hiring manager" so many times since 2020 has become frustrating. I was told by friends that work govt jobs to ignore it.

I have a phone interview tomorrow in office automation transcription, telework is offered but the job is 3 hrs from home. Would they allow training at my local VA and the work remotely?

This is a great description on how long it takes to get a job within the government. I've been with the gov now 15 yrs and trying to get a fully remote, so far its been 9 months and more than 30+ applications 😅

I got an email that stated I was tentatively qualified and then in the next section it said I had been referred to the hiring manager…then in the third section it started off saying if I’ve been referred I might be contacted by the hiring official.. but I am a veteran and recent grad who is using a 10 point preference… So that could be why I was referred as well. It depends on your situation…. It’s a case by case basis and it depends on the hr personnel whose looking at your documentation. I applied on a Monday and received an email on Friday.. the email I received on Friday told me that I was tentatively qualified and that I was referred to the hiring manager in the same email… so we will see if I get an interview and I will keep you all updated.

Hello I hope someone can answer this question. I applied for a purchasing agent which is what I did in the army, and I qualified for the 10- point preference. I noticed you stated in your video that if your email stated tentatively qualified then don’t waste your time, but my question is does this still apply if I was referred to the hiring manager for the position.

I’m a disabled veteran/current police officer and I haven’t gotten a single interview with any of the federal police agencies. My application keeps getting submitted, received, and then months later I’ll get an email saying that they’re no longer considering my application. Doesn’t make sense because I’m super qualified. 7 year military with no blemishes on my record, 2 years policing also with no bad remarks in my record. So why no interview? I think the website is kinda garbage.

I applied for a gov job in May. It took 5 months to be invited for testing. Then almost 2 months for 1st interview, 2 weeks later 2nd interview. Now I’m waiting…..

Federal government just wants minorities. I said I was black to get my job. I work for people who speak Spanish and are from other countries. Its ridiculous. In America they hate white males. I am so sick of the system. They also only hire people in higher positions they know. We have too many people we are competing. Its over for America.

Hi! Fyi most agencies do not scan resumes! The assessment helps us narrow it down (we don't even see resumes that don't meet minimum qualification * determined by the self assessment (all those questions u answer in the start of your application) . The resumes that are qualified we review each one...we compare the resume with the specialized experience listed in the job post... we are looking for your experience doing the work noted there...For social work, the education requirements are nonnegotiable.. this is an opm (Office of Personnel Management) requirement ...... the "referred to the hiring manager" email means that your resume made the stack of resumes that go to the hiring official usually the person who will ultimately make the hiring selection and from there that official will pick who they want to interview. Note: social work jobs are executed service (it more of an at will hiring.... In short ) ....also depending on where/what agency u are applying the budget yr might slow down or speed up the process. The new fiscal yr in the government starts oct.1... sorry for the long long post. Okay bye!
