I met an Iraqi Kurd refugee in my German language class here in Germany in 2016 who had managed to get out of his hometown of Mosul the day before Daesh arrived. He made his way to Turkey. It is a successful propaganda to display Kurds as heroes who fought and defeated ISIS. However, the truth is that Kurds and the US together bombed cities such as Raqqa and murdered thousands of innocent civilians including women and children and even they used internationally prohibited weapons like white phosphorus munitions. Kurds led by the YPG are a dangerous threat to the region as they discriminate against Arabs and Turkmens and they protect nothing but some westerners' political and economic profit from the region. DW is one of the worst media companies that I have ever seen as they just serve some corrupted politicians and get payment for that.
