Use a plastic bag or several bags, open them out, overlap them so they are even in thickness and twist them into a rope. Jam this rope by winding it between the propeller and the shaft housing. That slows the leaks to something a bilge pump will handle easily.

They're not expensive at all.
The cheapest way to breathe underwater.

I don't understand why you cut the threaded end off the hose barb. The vast majority of hose barbs have a tapered thread. The taper is intregal to sealing the connection, especially the first 3-4 threads. Properly tightening the barb into a correctly tapped tapered thread should result in approximately 25% of the barb threads outside the female fitting. That 25% of threads showing should have provided enough shaft clearance. Unless the barb & tap you used weren't a tapered pipe thread, you made extra work & compromised the innate sealing ability of the barb.

That little wish you found on board your small vessel, I found one on deck of a tanker ship, having 4 meters freeboard at that time haha quite a trip for them.

How different this is from professional sailing... I'll be posting some videos of professional sailing from time to time, join if you want to have a glips into that...
but still, some problems are the same... water ingress, have no help for days if needed in some cases, etc...

Fair winds and have a good one!
PS: nice video guys!

It looks like you should be replacing all of your through hull fittings and seacocks. If the one broke it may mean the others are ready to break as well. I just saw a video (can't remember who's video) where a light tap with a hammer broke off each and every through hull. Luckily they were on the hard. Cheers, I'm enjoying your videos very much.

By the look of the hull maybe you should have pulled it out of the water for a clean and anti foul!!!

Nice fix. All that crap on the bottom is costing you probably a knot of speed, and a dirty prop doesn’t do the engine any good. Best get Sarah down there with a scraper!

There is another product that you can use to seal up a crack in you hull. This other product is a special type of fiberglass that makes a sort of putty when you mix the parts. Its called Splash Zone . Very good to have on a boat. At my playlist (search sailing) area of my channel there is one where I talk about hull and refit issues and a video in that playlist on repairing a hole in the hull in the water shows it being used.
