I think the modern version of the wendigo isnt as scary as the actual close depictions of what they actually were told to look like in Native stories. The modern Wendigo usually has a deer or other forest creature skull as a head, with antlers especially. It usually is also told to have fur or dark brown skin. But the actual description of a Wendigo is the one I find way for terrifying. So in origin, the Wendigo is originally a human. When the person succumbs to their hunger and eats human flesh, or does it out of choice, the Wendigo spirit takes over their body and replaces their humanity with a monster Usually after a while the Wendigo ends up looking like such, their limbs grow in length, their body looks malnourished and starved, their skin becomes pale and almost grey-ish, their eyes become sunken and dark and they lose all of their hair. We can only assume they also had sharp teeth but thats only a guess. But the point is, they become true monsters. And what makes monsters scary is not them looking nothing like a human, its them looking almost human, like they once carried humanity, but now its gone. And whats left is a monster. The Wendigo.

Pet Sematary was probably the most fucked up book I've ever read lol, even Stephen King initially didn't want to publish it. You can just feel death seeping from every page.

It is fascinating. Lots of themes, who knows what is out there beyond our blinkers. Indigenous have a lot legends and I truly believe they should not be taken lightly. As for Steven king his books are so much better than the movies. They do let your imagination go.

In Pet Semetary the Wendigo isn't necessarily controling the events, it's a far more ancient evil energy that controls the Wendigo(in the story) and the Wendigo isnt a physical entity either, its a energy

I feel like the cadrle rock hulu series can continue with another season by retconning castle rock, ludlow and derry being 3 towns that share a triangle border! build on the theory of it being like a maine "bermuda triangle" of supernatural lay lines that make all the land those towns share some kind of "blackhole" of evil.. maybe they can even explain it as one of the areas a fallen angel landed when god threw lucifer and his follwers out of heaven. So the land is tainted in spoiled bad energy..idk what town overlook hotel is at but im pretty sure thats set in maine too soo im sure theres a creative way to tie that into the mythology as well. the show already retcons annie wilkes and many of stephen kings "maine" centric characters so its not that big of a stretch to set the series in sort of a alternate timeline than the novels. So they can restructure and add or change the geography in a way to tell a great story or do antholagy type stories eacj season.."castle rock presents strange happening in ludlow" ect... if they can get kings blessing than even better..im sure if the writing is good that he would approve perhaps even have some input here n there. If u have seen the castle rock series it gives u an idea what reworking characters, settings ect could look like and what they could do with a alternate timeline of events if done right..

In King's book Insomnia, Gage Creed is name dropped as a victim of Atropos, who essentially cuts the cord to their life force which causes some random instantaneous death. Atropos (one of the 3 "Little Bald Doctors" of Insomnia) works for the random, also known as the red, and the other 2 little bald doctors work for the force of good, or the white. Atropos takes items of his victims as collectors items and he had Gages shoe in his lair. Meaning Atropos was an underlying antagonist of Pet Sematary.

I give Pet Sematary: Bloodlines a 3/10. There was no Wendigo and no Ramones/Starcrawler song to close out the movie. The only redeeming factor was watching Natalie Alyn Lind run around.
