For people asking why I didn't put Geega--its bc she wasn't a poach, which primarily is what this video centers around

Silver threw Nux under the bus in a NY minute during the doxxing drama, quickly jumping to the defense of everyone claiming Nux did all sorts of BS (with a variation of the tried and true “I’m so sorry this happened to you” tweet, most of them gone now, imagine that…) and ignoring or even blocking everyone that came out with proof the claims were false

Once the 3 drama attractor are gone , things are slowly going baseline ok. Henya joined , gamechanger. She the most positive signing that they needed. This is kind of Vtuber that companies need. Especially when they give more freedom.

It really shows that some of you guys are basement dwellers.
most of the "Juicy drama" surrounding vtubers isnt even noticeable to people that are confronted with real problems day to day.
Someone was salty when leaving the group? who cares lol.
With Nyan someone literally had to go 13+ years back to find some filth on her , even KGB would be proud for that level of background check.
and finally when your beloved vtubers were attacked for playing a game this huge community allowed their idols to get bullied by few fanatics instead of standing up and saying its not ok.

sigh Why do people want to simp/hate companies? Rather than focusing on the talent or creators. You know the people making the content? I've literally heard friends say "Oh I like that vtuber. I won't watch them cause they are a part of company X." Like bitch watch the people you want. What does it matter who's paying them?

One thing I’ve noticed is that Vshojo seems like they’re breaking free from that “hornybait” reputation they’ve had. Silver Nyan and Vei left, who were all pretty infamous for that kinda stuff, and the new members like Henya are pretty much completely devoid of weird fanservice bullshit entirely.
Of course there’s still Melody, arguably the most depraved Vtuber in existence who I still can’t stand, but I’ll take what I can get I suppose.

I've been a pretty outspoken critic of VShojo in my VTuber-Liking friend group, and even said something to the effect of "I don't see this company being able to weather controversy very well, and it'll probably collapse by the end of 2024 or so." I was convinced they were going to lose ground because of stuff like the Nux drama, and how that whole thing was handled, because it displayed a degree of incompetence in maintaining itself from a management and PR stand point when they got caught with their pants down by Nux having receipts to back up what he was saying about how things went down, and how the cyber security people (which for an agency like this is a big fucking deal) were bad at their jobs. On a similar note: Nijisanji was a company I saw as being a bit reckless with market saturation, but because of the success of the first wave of boys in EN, I was convinced that things were going to be good for them, and that they'd, at the very least, be the brand for male VTubers in the EN space, cause Cover is notoriously shit at promoting the Holostars boys to the audience that would enjoy them the most.

Fast forward to now, and I've flipped almost entirely. VShojo getting Kson meant they were doing something right in my eyes, and upon Nyanners, Silvervale, and Veibae leaving, I saw things improving. All three of them, in my view, were the ones holding back the company because of how checkered their history/behavior towards certain things (like the Nux drama) was handled by them. Then they got Henya, and I was like "alright, this company is doing something right again, let's see how this goes." Then we get the back to back one-two punch of Kuro and Matara, which when combined with my ever growing view of Nijisanji being in freefall (at least as far as EN is concerned), it was basically the "things are going well for VShojo, I'm stoked" vibes all around.

Like, to me, NijiEN seems like a sinking ship, where only like, maybe the top talent are going to have a future with the company once EN inevitably crashes, and the bulk of the talent will likely end up adrift, going indie, or joining another agency like VShojo or even Hololive if they play their cards right. My opinion flipped on Nijisanji when Zaion/Sayu came out and detailed how shit went down, and how it's no secret that the company is a mess on the managerial side. Which sucks, cause I like a lot of the talent, but the company is a disaster zone, whereas VShojo had one really big yab before buckling down and becoming a better company over all. It's funny how the passage of time, however short, can change your perspective on things.

@RvEijndhoven
@RvEijndhoven - 26.10.2023 20:03

People really need to get it through their heads that VShojo and the big Japanese agencies are very different companies that work in very different ways.

When VShojo members talk about the company being 'talent first' that doesn't just means 'the company supports the talent more than other companies'.

It means that other companies design a character (or usually a whole generation of characters) with a gimmick and a preset character traits and a preset audience they're supposed to appeal to... And then they hire talent to play those characters. The talent are employees of the company and the company decides everything for them, when they're supposed to collab and who they're supposed to collab with, what kind of games they are and aren't allowed to play and what other activities they're supposed to do. The talent have some input, obviously. If they suggest that a certain activity would probably be enjoyed by their fans, the corporate managers will listen and of course they can get time off and medical leave.
But ultimately the talent are employees and that's how they relate to the company.

VShojo doesn't employ its talent. VShojo is employed by its talent.

When a talent for one the big Japanese companies does something controversial, the rest of the talent gets told how they're supposed to deal with that and the company (eventually) presents a united front.
When a talent for VShojo does something controversial, the company has to check in with the other talent on how it should react and if they don't agree on the matter, the company does nothing.

As one of those that got sour over their drama, my grievance actually goes to Gunrun and whichever idiots under him during that stupid fiasco. Talents wise, I still like Ironmouse, lukewarm for the rest except Mel, Nyan and Vei which are all in my absolute negative zone. Right now, my opinion on the company itself is neutral as Vshoujo went from popular folks private club to Vtuber rescue center. At this point, the company just stand to gain more by offering better deal and services to vtubers that either quit or got fired while also keeping their doors open the big indies that might wanna join. As long as my oshis that joined them get the good treatments they deserve, I’m willing to support vshoujo in their expenditures.

Since Veibae, Silvervale, and Nyanners left VShojo, I had mixed feelings. Veibae was whatever for me tbh, while Silvervale did hurt a bit until she attacked IronMouse and the other girls - that kinda made it awkward. Honestly, Nyanners was the one that hurt the most mostly due to her friendship with IronMouse and seemingly the others. If anything, I was more worried what may happen to Vshojo and the rest of the talents as a whole.

Thankfully, that seems to have settled overtime, and I think a massive part of that came to be thanks to Henya's introduction. After all, much like Silver, she was harassed for playing Hogwarts Legacy. To me, this seemed like a sort of redemption act for Vshojo and right their wrongs with Silver, as well as picking up someone who they knew people want to see more of. This also can be applied to the girls as I feel like they are beginning to forge stronger bonds with each other. In the end, it seems that Vshojo wants to protect what they have, and they don't seem to be doing so in a malicious way - which is great overall.

Since then, Vshojo seems to have come back up with people thanks to Geega coming in (love her) and their recent new members, whom just so happens to be from another agency that was, allegedly, much less favorable towards their idols. As such, while I wouldn't say they are getting better, but they are certainly healing after the backlashes and seems to have now better settled themselves in within its much larger competitors. And honestly, after some time had passed, having the previous three leave Vshojo seemed to be better for everyone - both for them and Vshojo due to their "quesitonable personas" within the Vshojo brand.

Here is my point of view. I am one of those users who took strongly when hating upon VShojo back then when the whole Nux Taku drama started.

This was because of how all the talents acted towards him during their weakest point, which… shows a lot of character behind each of the talents. As their real selves were being shown, but the main ones I saw dogging on it was
-Vei
-Nyanners
Yet… seeing their past with drama, and hypocrisy. It made me despise the company for allowing these two to get away after saying everything they did.

Then when it comes to Silverwolf. Her casting shade upon Ironmouse when she was graduating from VShojo -> Indie. It just seems that… she was jealous of her achievements. Ironmouse was clearly loved by ALL fan bases and really had the whole VTuber stuff down Pat.

I think personally… this era of VShojo is better. With three of the four most problematic women gone. It feels better watching their streams

The "VShojo got rid the the troublemakers and will now prosper." narrative feels a little off, considering that Vei was only briefly a member to begin with, Silver hardly had any drama until the admittedly bitter end, and Nyanner's supposedly controversial past is mostly about stuff from around 13 years ago when she was a literal teenager on 4chan that is far from relevant for most fans outside of a very vocal set of loli and chan board people who will never stop pushing it. Also, every one of them left because they chose to when contracts changed.

Ответить
@Markus_Bern
@Markus_Bern - 22.10.2023 18:07

What kind of speculation can there bе and questions to Vshojo? All three girls left because their contracts had expired and they did not want to renew them because they did not agree because of the money. Yes, it’s all because of money and not because of some internal conflicts, although they can also have their influence. Likewise, KSON may leave soon, since I already saw her comment somewhere that this is all just a business and she already has an offer of 1 million per month (maybe I'm wrong about the amount). So there are those who engage in Vtubing as a hobby and value their colleagues and there are those for whom it is important to earn more money while they are at the peak of popularity.

And VShojo threw her under the bus and took the side of a bunch of political extremist. I think thats interesting that you didn't mention that. She got no help from any body in that company even though they pretended to be her friend and some talents from VShojo itself attacked her.

@zylosaghrym8299 - 21.10.2023 21:38

Vshojo is coming off strong, they got rid of troublemakers basically and their new acquisitions are gold. Now about silvervale I dont think I heard anything bad about her except when she did throw shade at mouse. Maybe it was the frustration that piled up and got out through the wrong pipe. Because lets face it, we are all human still, even the people behind vtuber avatars/personas. So from the trio that left, I would think that she is the only one that could be considered a loss. Mind you I have never seen her streams personally. However without getting into the streams of others, nyanners and veibae already have a "strain" so to speak of as you mentioned. Even IF you never saw one of her streams, you probably already know about nyanners being not only a hypocrite but well... having no breaks on her train so to say, when it comes to speaking and being a former 4channer. That places affects people in a negative way whether you want it or not. As for Veibae, all Ic an say si good riddance. Not because of the incident after she left which honestly I agree people should not be as sensitive for one word, but more likely she overall is a ugly person on the inside (clarifying before people thinks I am attacking her appearance) . She gives said vibes and just continues to prove the point more then ever, every single drama that happens to involve her. Personally the time she did comment on shylili was the time it should have been a mayor flag to anyone, with her overly inflated ego. Not only it proves her actual personality is probably rotten and egocentric and that she craves to be the one hogging all attention all the time. But it probably indicates a complex of inferiority which mind you is probably the reason she needs to diss anyone who is even attempting to rise instead reacting in any other positive way. Even if said person is not even a "real threat". By that I mean, it wont come and get her fired and replaced by that person. Competition is always gonna be out there. But she would still keep her job. If she felt threatened maybe she should change her way to play the game and up her ante to get in a better position where she feels "safe?" enough. Regardless it is a problem she has and that she needs to work with, one of the many that apparently leads her acting that way. Hm being the center of the attention may be why she focuses on make mostly coomer content too now that I think about it. But hey that is something to tackle another time. This are my 5 cents to the topic being discussed.

I think they gained WAY more then what they lost back then by getting rid of those 2. Henya, Kuro, matara kan are more then enough to replace them. It is not impossible not to enjoy the contagious laugh and personality of henya, kuro seems way happier doing what he is now and that is seen on his content, and as for matara well lets just say internet is happy to have her mommy back.

Ответить
@pockypimp
@pockypimp - 21.10.2023 21:18

One thing to look at is how Kuro and Matara have talked about how Vshojo treats them better than their previous companies. It might help that they're so much smaller so they can have that more personal touch with their talents. Although hearing both of them say that having a manager that actually listens to them and offers assistance may say a lot of how the company works.
